Job summary

Alstom Bologna is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to provide technical support to maintenance activities on Railway Signalling Systems, on site or remotely. The role includes managing warranty obligations within Bologna projects.

The candidate will join the Signalling Maintenance team and liaise with internal functions and external customer infrastructures, with a 60% off-site availability noted.

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret electric drawings and schemes.

Purpose of the Job

The main purpose of the role is to provide technical support to maintenance activities (on site or by remote) on Railway Signalling Systems operated by the Alstom Bologna domestic and international Customers.

The role includes the responsibility to manage warranty obligations on the projects in the scope of Alstom Bologna.

External relationships with Customer infrastructures operators and with maintenance technicians.

Mission

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

The person will be responsible for:

• support to maintenance technicians on field;
• provision of performances and log analysis;
• execution and supervision of HW and SW retrofit and upgrade plans;

The position also includes the availability to perform activities outside of the Bologna Alstom site (60%).

Educational Requirements

Capability to interpret electric drawings and schemes

Knowledge of electronic design principle and methodology

Knowledge of the most common operating systems (Unix, Ms-Windows, …)

Knowledge of the most common net protocols (TCP/IP, …)

Capability to use test tools (oscilloscope, wave generator, multimeter, etc…)

Basic knowledge of railway systems and or transportation systems would be a plus

Languages:

Italian: excellent level written and spoken

English: good level written and spoken

Capabilityof synthesis and related written exposure

Capability to perform analysis and to relate information from different contexts

Experience
