Job summary

Avio Aero, a GE Aerospace company, is seeking an on-site SMS Risk Focal to manage hazards, lead investigations, and coordinate mitigation actions. You will interact with Compliance, Supply Chain, Product Quality, and Operations to ensure residual risk acceptability under FLIGHT DECK standards.

The role requires collaboration across functions, strong analytical skills, and knowledge of Safety Management Systems and aviation regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.
• Experience in aerospace/defense domains (Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Safety).
• Knowledge of aviation regulations and standards.
• Knowledge of problem-solving and LEAN methodologies.
• Strong inspection and investigation capability.
• Understanding of safety management systems (SMS) and human factors.

Responsibilities

• Manage and update the hazard log and SAT records.
• Lead investigations and gather data to support risk assessments.
• Coordinate risk mitigation actions and ensure traceability of hazards.
• Support cross-functional collaboration and safety metrics analysis.
• Participate in daily shop floor routines to strengthen safety culture.
