Job summary

Enerland Italia is seeking an Accountant to join its Finance team in Milan. You will manage accounting for Enerland Italia and SPVs, ensuring accurate records, timely reconciliations and reliable financial information.

The role requires hands-on experience in Italian accounting and close collaboration with the Finance Manager, internal departments and external advisers. A strong command of Italian and English is required, with SAP Dynamics and Excel skills being advantageous.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of hands-on accounting experience.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics, or an accounting diploma with relevant experience.
• Dynamics 365 Business Central will be considered an asset.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Professional proficiency in Italian and good English.
• Accuracy, organisation and ability to meet recurring deadlines.
• Collaborative approach to working with internal teams and external advisers.

Responsibilities

• Accounts payable & purchase-to-pay: record supplier invoices, manage approvals, VAT, and cost allocation; reconcile balances.
• Accounts receivable & sales-to-cash: issue invoices, reconcile, record receipts and follow up on payments.
• Banking & cash accounting: bank transactions, reconciliations across entities, cash flow support.
• Payroll accounting: monthly payroll entries, cost allocation by project, reconcile payroll taxes.
• Tax accounting: VAT reconciliations and tax filings support with advisers.
• Intercompany accounting: record and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances.
• Project accounting & cost capitalisation: allocate costs by project/SPV, capitalised costs, fixed assets.
• Closing & reporting: monthly/year-end closings and documentation for auditors.

About the role

Enerland Italia is looking for an Accountant to join its Finance team in Milan.

You will handle accounting processes for Enerland Italia and its project companies (SPVs), ensuring accurate records, timely reconciliations and reliable financial information.

The role requires hands-on experience in Italian accounting. You will work closely with the Finance Manager, internal departments and external tax and payroll advisers.

• Accounts payable & purchase-to-pay: Follow up purchase orders, record supplier invoices and credit notes in Business Central, ensuring correct approvals, matching, VAT treatment and cost allocation; reconcile supplier balances and prepare payment proposals.
• Accounts receivable & sales-to-cash: Prepare and record customer invoices and credit notes based on contracts and approved milestones; reconcile balances, record receipts and follow up on outstanding payments.
• Banking & cash accounting: Record bank transactions, perform bank reconciliations across multiple entities and support cash flow tracking and payment schedules.
• Payroll accounting: Record monthly payroll entries, allocate personnel costs by project and cost centre, and reconcile employee payments and related tax and social security liabilities.
• Tax accounting: Prepare VAT reconciliations, including group VAT, and accounting data for withholding taxes and F24 payments; support external advisers with tax filings and electronic invoicing matters.
• Intercompany accounting: Record and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances, including invoices, funding and interest, coordinating with group companies to resolve differences.
• Project accounting & cost capitalisation: Allocate development and construction costs by project and SPV, record eligible capitalised costs under agreed OIC policies, and maintain construction-in-progress and fixed asset accounts.
• Closing & reporting: Prepare monthly and year-end closing entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts, support financial and group reporting, and provide documentation to external accountants and auditors.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of hands-on accounting experience, gained in a company finance department or an accounting firm.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics, or an accounting diploma supported by relevant professional experience.
• Practical experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central will be considered an asset.
• Good command of Microsoft Excel.
• Professional proficiency in Italian and good written and spoken English are required.
• Accuracy, organisation and the ability to manage recurring deadlines.
• A collaborative approach to working with internal teams and external advisers.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Spanish will be considered a plus.
• Experience in or knowledge of the renewable energy sector.
• Experience in construction or another project-based business.
