Warehouse Operations Manager – a strategic and execution-focused leadership role responsible for managing and optimizing key warehouse operations across defined functional areas with excellence, efficiency, and scalability. This role requires a mature leader to drive performance across people, processes, and technology, while ensuring operational accuracy, cost optimization, and continuous improvement. The individual will build a high-performance culture, leverage data‑driven decision‑making, and lead digital transformation initiatives including WMS and process automation.
Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Execution Excellence
- Lead and oversee assigned warehouse operations including inbound, storage, inventory control, and outbound logistics.
- Ensure smooth execution of operational activities with high levels of accuracy, productivity, and adherence to turnaround timelines.
- Drive structured execution of operational plans aligned with business objectives.
- Establish and monitor KPIs; take proactive corrective and preventive actions.
Strategic Planning & Forecasting
- Forecast operational needs including manpower, space, and infrastructure based on business growth projections.
- Develop short‑term and long‑term operational strategies.
- Optimize warehouse layout, capacity planning, and resource allocation for maximum efficiency.
Team Leadership & People Management
- Lead, coach, and develop teams to drive high performance, operational discipline, and a culture of ownership.
- Foster a collaborative, respectful, and ethics‑driven work environment aligned with organisational values.
- Effectively manage people-related situations with strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict‑resolution capabilities.
- Drive performance management, talent development, and succession planning to ensure team productivity, accountability, and alignment with business objectives.
Training & Capability Development
- Design and drive structured learning initiatives focused on operational excellence and process effectiveness.
- Continuously enhance team capabilities through training on warehouse processes, systems, safety standards, and productivity improvement practices.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Manage and negotiate with vendors (logistics, workforce, equipment, etc.) to ensure cost efficiency and service quality.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure alignment between warehouse operations and cross‑functional teams.
Technology & Process Development
- Lead implementation and optimization of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Collaborate with tech teams to design, enhance, and deploy scalable digital solutions.
- Drive automation initiatives and process digitization to improve productivity, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Leverage AI tools and technology‑driven solutions to enhance operational planning, reporting, and decision‑making capabilities.
Data Analysis & Performance Management
- Utilize data analytics to monitor performance, identify gaps, and drive continuous improvement.
- Prepare actionable MIS reports and dashboards for management review.
- Apply analytical thinking to solve complex operational challenges.
- Promote innovation‑driven thinking to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.

Risk & Business Continuity Management
- Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies.

Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in warehouse management or operations (2-3 years in a managerial role).
- Language: Kannada (mandatory), English (fluent), Hindi (working knowledge).
- High ownership mindset with the ability to manage operations as a business‑critical function.
- Strong leadership maturity with the ability to take independent decisions and drive operational accountability.
- Expertise in SOP development, process standardization, productivity management, and warehouse controls.
- Result‑oriented approach with focus on productivity, accuracy, timelines, and service excellence.
- Strong analytical thinking with ability to convert operational data into actionable insights.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, MIS reporting, dashboards, and operational analytics.
- Strong techno‑functional understanding of WMS, ERP systems, warehouse automation, and operational technologies.
