Job summary

Avigna Properties in Tamil Nadu's Krishnagiri district seeks a site-head for its distribution centre to own end-to-end safety, service, cost and compliance and act as the single point of accountability to the customer.

You will lead inbound, storage and outbound across two shifts, drive 99.5% inventory accuracy, manage a large vendor base and ensure adherence to CLRA, GST and E-way billing while delivering on-time, damage-free deliveries.

Qualifications

• Graduate in any discipline; MBA/PGDM in Operations or Supply Chain preferred.
• 12–18 years in warehousing or contract logistics; at least 5 years as site head of a facility with 200+ staff.
• Automotive or two-wheeler OEM stockyard experience strongly preferred; high-value finished goods experience essential.
• Hands-on with a warehouse management system; working knowledge of GST dispatch documentation and E-way billing.
• Exposure to principal-employer compliance under CLRA and managing a large contract-labour vendor.

Job description

Purpose of the role

Own the end-to-end performance of the distribution centre safety, service, cost and compliance and act as the single point of accountability to the customer. This is a site-head role carrying commercial responsibility, not a shift-supervision role.

Key responsibilities

Customer and commercial

• Act as the single point of contact for TVS Motor and chair the monthly business review.
• Deliver the contracted service levels and defend the monthly invoice, including minimum volume reconciliation and additional-charge recovery.
• Control cost to serve against the approved budget and explain every material variance.
• Administer the commercial terms in practice — truck fill band, free dock time and detention, volume ceiling and escalation clauses.

Operations

• Run inbound, storage and outbound across two shifts inside a 17-hour operating window.
• Hold truck turnaround at 75 minutes inbound and 100 minutes outbound.
• Protect the model-zoned storage discipline the layout depends on — deep blocks work only if each holds a single model and colour.
• Clear dock congestion, arrival clustering and system downtime before they reach the customer as a service failure.

Inventory and quality

• Deliver 99.5% inventory accuracy on serialised chassis, evidenced by monthly wall-to-wall reconciliation.
• Hold handling damage within 0.20% of units handled and personally own the two-hour joint damage identification protocol.
• Act as custodian of approximately 18,500 units of customer stock at any time.

People and vendor management

• Lead a 345-head deployment; own the shift roster, the reliever pool and skill certification.
• Manage the loading and unloading labour vendor supplying 237 crew — rate discipline, attendance, and monthly verification of PF, ESI and wage registers.
• Control blue-collar attrition and own induction and on-the-job training.

Safety and statutory compliance

• Deliver zero lost-time injury. Own fire drills, emergency evacuation and the permit-to-work regime.
• Discharge principal-employer obligations under the Contract Labour (Regulation & Abolition) Act.
• Keep Fire NOC, Shops & Establishment registration, Pollution Control Board consent, Legal Metrology stamping and all statutory registers current without lapse.

Assets and systems

• Act as custodian of approximately 2.23 crore of deployed capital equipment.
• Own WMS master data integrity and the health of the ERP/DMS interface with TVS Motor.

Qualifications and experience

• Graduate in any discipline. MBA or PGDM in Operations or Supply Chain preferred.
• 12 to 18 years in warehousing or contract logistics, of which at least 5 years as site head of a facility with 200 or more people on roll.
• Automotive or two-wheeler OEM stockyard experience strongly preferred. Experience with serialised, high-value finished goods is essential.
• Hands-on with a warehouse management system. Working knowledge of GST dispatch documentation and E-way billing.
• Demonstrated exposure to principal-employer compliance under CLRA and to managing a large contract-labour vendor.

Skills and competencies

• Customer-facing maturity — able to hold a monthly review with an OEM supply chain team and be believed.
• Commercial literacy — can read a cost sheet, explain a variance and defend an invoice line by line.
• Labour-relations judgement at scale, including handling a vendor dispute without stopping the operation.
• Composure under dock congestion and month-end dispatch pressure.
• Fluent English and Tamil. Hindi useful for interaction with transporter crews.
