Job summary

Abacus Service is seeking a Production Manager to oversee daily manufacturing operations, bridging planning and on-the-floor execution. The role ensures safety, quality, timeliness, and cost control across the production line.

You will drive production planning, quality assurance, budget tracking, staff supervision, equipment maintenance, and health & safety compliance. This position collaborates with procurement, sales, finance and logistics to ensure smooth order fulfillment.

Responsibilities

• Production Planning: Organizing manufacturing schedules, establishing KPIs, and ensuring resources and materials are available before operations begin.
• Quality Assurance: Establishing and enforcing strict quality control standards to guarantee finished products meet requirements.
• Cost & Budget Control: Managing the operational budget, tracking production costs, and identifying cost-saving measures.
• Staff Management: Supervising, training, and scheduling floor staff, conducting performance appraisals, and ensuring safety.
• Equipment & Maintenance: Overseeing selection, maintenance, and repair of manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime.
• Health and Safety Compliance: Implementing and enforcing health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Process Optimization: Leading continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate waste and maximize efficiency.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaising with procurement, sales, finance, and logistics to ensure supply chain and order fulfillment.

Role & responsibilities

• Production Planning: Organizing manufacturing schedules, establishing target metrics (KPIs), and ensuring that all project resources and materials are available before operations begin.
• Quality Assurance: Establishing and enforcing strict quality control standards to guarantee that finished products meet both company and regulatory requirements.
• Cost & Budget Control: Managing the operational budget, tracking production costs, and identifying cost-saving measures to improve overall profitability.
• Staff Management: Supervising, training, and scheduling floor staff. This includes conducting performance appraisals, resolving workplace disputes, and ensuring a safe, motivating work culture.
• Equipment & Maintenance: Overseeing the selection, routine maintenance, and prompt repair of manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime and prevent production bottlenecks.
• Health and Safety Compliance: Implementing, monitoring, and enforcing strict health, safety, and environmental regulations to protect workers and maintain legal compliance.
• Process Optimization: Leading continuous improvement initiatives (such as Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma) to eliminate waste, streamline workflows, and maximize efficiency.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Acting as the liaison between production and other departments like procurement, sales, finance, and logistics to ensure seamless supply chain and order fulfillment.
