Key Responsibilities:
1. Inbound Operations (RM/PM/Consumables)
- Ensure timely receiving of yarn, trims, packing materials, and consumables.
- Verify GRN entries, QA clearance, and documentation accuracy.
- Maintain well-defined receiving processes including quality checks, batch/lot capturing, and storage allocation.
2. Storage, Binning & Warehouse Organization
- Implement structured storage systems including binning, labelling, segregation, and racking.
- Ensure proper storage conditions for yarn and sensitive materials (humidity, ventilation, (First In, First Out - FIFO/ First Expired, First Out - FEFO).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant warehouse environment aligned with 5S standards.
3. Internal Material Movement & WIP Management
- Ensure efficient and accurate material issuance to knitting, linking, washing, finishing, and packing departments.
- Track WIP movement across all departments and maintain visibility in ERP.
- Ensure zero delays in material availability for production.
4. Inventory Management & Accuracy
- Maintain 98%+ inventory accuracy through daily cycle counts and periodic stock audits.
- Monitor stock levels, slow/non-moving inventory, and near-expiry items.
- Investigate discrepancies and ensure corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain real-time inventory in ERP with zero backlog.
5. Finished Goods Handling & Dispatch Management
- Oversee picking, packing, labelling, palletizing, and loading of finished goods.
- Coordinate dispatch plans with merchandising, PPC, and logistics teams.
- Ensure accurate documentation for local, interstate, and export shipments.
- Manage transport scheduling and ensure OTIF (On-Time-In-Full) delivery performance.
6. Warehouse Safety, Compliance & Governance
- Ensure adherence to safety standards, fire protection norms, and statutory guidelines.
- Conduct regular safety drills, housekeeping checks, and risk assessments.
- Maintain compliance with customer audits, internal audits, and quality management systems.
7. ERP, Data Accuracy & Reporting
- Ensure accurate and timely posting of GRNs, issues, transfers, and dispatch documents.
- Manage warehouse-related ERP modules and train team members.
- Generate daily/weekly/monthly MIS reports:
- Inventory ageing
- Stock accuracy
- Warehouse efficiency
- Dispatch performance
- WIP visibility
8. Warehouse Optimization & Continuous Improvement
- Improve warehouse layout for better flow, space utilization, and safety.
- Implement best practices like barcoding, location mapping, Kanban, and FIFO/FEFO automation.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives by optimizing storage, manpower, and material handling practices.
9. Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor a team of warehouse executives, supervisors, and operators.
- Define KPIs and drive performance management.
- Conduct regular training on ERP usage, SOP adherence, 5S, and inventory discipline.
- Promote a culture of accountability, speed, and accuracy.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management in textile/socks/apparel manufacturing.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/Tally or any manufacturing ERP).
- Excellent leadership, coordination, and team-building skills.
- High discipline in documentation, process adherence, and inventory control.
- Strong analytical ability for data-driven decision-making.
- Familiarity with 5S, FIFO/FEFO, and warehousing best practices.
- Ability to work under pressure with strong problem-solving capabilities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate in Supply Chain, Logistics, Commerce, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 8 to 12 years experience in warehouse management, including at least 3–5 years in textile/socks/apparel manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience in RM (Raw Material), WIP (Work in Progress), FG (Finished Goods) handling, dispatch management, and inventory control.
- Experience managing mid-sized warehouse teams and high-volume operations.
