Job summary

Piaggio in India seeks a procurement professional to plan and schedule raw materials ensuring timely deliveries for production. The role focuses on uninterrupted supply, inventory control, and cost optimization.

You will coordinate with suppliers, manage receipts per production plan, evaluate performance, and drive improvements in inventory, logistics, and vendor quality. A strong SAP MM background is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in procurement planning and scheduling of raw materials.
• Hands-on experience with SAP MM module.
• Strong supplier coordination and logistics understanding.
• Ability to handle pressure and changing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate/follow up with assigned suppliers as 1st level SCM contact.
• Receipt planning of components from assigned suppliers per production plan.
• Vendor supply performance evaluation and plan corrective actions.
• Anticipate bottlenecks with production and resolve or escalate to avoid production impact.
• Capacity planning in line with volume ramp up.
• Inventory management and optimization to meet business targets.
• Maintain buffer stocks as per defined norms.
• Obsolete material periodic salvage and disposal.
• Support for documentation of vendors to avoid payment delays.
• Ensure rotation of material handling.
• Logistics cost optimization.
• Coordinate internally for vendor quality and capacity improvement activities.
• Engineering change management.

Role & responsibilities

You will be responsible for all the activities related to procurement planning and scheduling of raw material to ensure timely delivery of the materials to production with uninterrupted supply of material for seamless plant operations to meet on time and quality-based end customer delivery.

Job Role

• Coordination/follow up of assigned suppliers as 1st level contact point from SCM
• Receipt planning of components form assigned suppliers as per production plan
• Vendor supply performance evaluation against schedule & plan corrective actions
• Anticipating likely bottlenecks w.r.t. production & resolving or escalating them to avoid production impact
