Job summary

PI Industries Ltd. in Panoli, India, is seeking a Safety professional to support the Plant-level safety program.

The role will assist in implementing occupational and process safety, advise factory management on statutory obligations, and help maintain a safe working environment across operations. You will participate in the safety committee, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and relevant safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Issue of Work Permits
• Advise departments on measures to control injuries and accidents
• Advise on safety in job studies and conduct detailed studies of selected jobs
• Part of investigations of accidents and incidents
• Investigate dangerous occurrences and occupational diseases
• Form the safety committee and advise its activities
• Carry out safety inspections
• Advise on removing unsafe conditions and preventing unsafe actions
• Comply with ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and Factories Act
• Conduct HAZOP and PSSR studies and verify recommendations as a team member

Job description

Position Purpose

The Safety Team is responsible for implementation of occupational and process safety within the company. The role is also responsible to assist and advice the factory management in the fulfilment of its obligations, statutory or otherwise concerning prevention of injuries and maintaining safe working environment

Strategic Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Safety in implementation of Health & Safety related issues at Plant level
• Plan for implementation of safety management systems such that minimum accident/incident occurred

Operational Responsibilities

• Issue of Work Permits
• Advise the concerned departments in planning and organizing measure necessary for the effective control of personal injuries/accident
• Advice on safety aspects in all job studies and to carry out detailed job studies of selected jobs
• Part of Investigation of accidents and incidents
• Investigation of dangerous occurrences and occupational diseases
• To form the safety committee and act as an adviser and catalyst to such committee.
• Carry out safety inspections
• Advice on measures to be adopted for removing the unsafe physical conditions and preventing unsafe actions
• Comply all requirements of ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 & Factories Act etc.
• Conduct HAZOP study & PSSR and to verify its recommendation of all new products as a team member
