Job summary

RSPL Group in India (Madhya Pradesh, Sagar) invites a Safety Officer to oversee workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and health programs. You will lead inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, and training to protect employees and assets.

The role emphasizes developing SOPs, emergency plans, PPE management, and fostering a proactive 'Safety First' culture across management, supervisors, workers, and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Legal Compliance with applicable occupational safety, health, environmental, and factory regulations.
• Conduct Safety Inspections of machines, work areas, electrical systems, storage, PPE, and workplace conditions.
• Perform Risk Assessments & JSA and implement controls following hierarchy of controls.
• Lead Incident & Accident Investigation to identify root causes and preventive actions.
• Deliver Safety Training and Awareness programs for employees and contractors.
• Develop Emergency Preparedness plans for fires, spills, explosions, leaks, and medical emergencies.
• Manage PPE needs, availability, usage, and effectiveness monitoring.
• Create and maintain SOPs, safety procedures, permits, checklists, risk assessments, and records.
• Monitor Safety Performance by tracking KPIs and reporting to management.
• Promote a "Safety First" culture with stakeholders and drive continuous improvement.

Role & responsibilities

• Ensure Legal Compliance Ensure compliance with applicable occupational safety, health, environmental, and factory regulations.
• Conduct Safety Inspections – Regularly inspect machines, work areas, electrical systems, material storage, PPE, and other workplace conditions to identify hazards.
• Risk Assessment & Hazard Control – Identify hazards, conduct risk assessments/JSA, and implement appropriate control measures following the hierarchy of controls.
• Incident & Accident Investigation – Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe occurrences; identify root causes and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
• Safety Training & Awareness – Conduct induction, toolbox talks, emergency drills, PPE training, and other safety awareness programs for employees and contractors.
• Emergency Preparedness – Develop and maintain emergency response plans for fire, chemical spills, explosions, gas leaks, medical emergencies, and other foreseeable situations.
• PPE Management – Identify PPE requirements, ensure proper availability and use, and monitor the condition and effectiveness of PPE.
• Safety Procedures & Documentation – Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs, safety procedures, permits, inspection checklists, risk assessments, incident records, and statutory documentation.
• Monitor Safety Performance – Track safety KPIs such as incidents, near misses, unsafe acts/conditions, corrective actions, and safety observations, and report performance to management.
• Promote Safety Culture – Work with management, supervisors, workers, contractors, and safety committees to build a proactive \"Safety First\" culture and continuously improve workplace safety.
