  • Shall be responsible for daily walkthrough audit and observe shop floor to identify unsafe activities or violations.
  • Comply with all applicable Environment, Health & Safety statutory regulations.
  • Keep employees informed, educated, trained & re-trained on health & safety to ensure safe conduct of their job.
  • Encourage Employee participation in safety activities by monthly involvement and suggestions to ensure safe culture and environment.
  • Ensure Material Safety Data Sheets for all plant chemicals are available and train employees on MSDS.
  • Identify hazards & risks for fire within the plant and control them with appropriate measures.
  • Maintain documented procedures & effective systems for safe evacuation in case of fire.
  • Establish systems and procedures for handling emergencies.
  • Assess risks and hazards across operations.
  • Create analytical reports of EHS data.
  • Inspect production equipment to ensure safety.
  • Focus on prevention through maintenance and training.
  • Create safety plans with improvements to infrastructure & processes.
  • Share information and observations with EHS to process owners to standardize safety across the company.
  • Strive to achieve company EHS goals.
  • Investigate causes of accidents and unsafe conditions on site.
  • Find best ways to avoid future incidents/accidents.
  • Fulfilling ISO 14001:2015 (EMS) & ISO 45001:2018 (OH&S) requirements and their implementation beyond compliance.
  • Responsible for annual safety calendar and training per calendar.
  • Responsible for new entrants training on safety/fire safety applicable in plant.
  • Responsible for all audits related to EHS.

Job description

Designation: Engineer EHS
Department: Environment, Health & Safety (EHS)
Reporting To: DGM HR
Location: Plant / Manufacturing Facility


  • Shall be responsible for daily walkthrough audit and make observation at the shop floor and identify any unsafe activities or violations.
  • Comply with all applicable Environment, Health & safety statutory regulations.
  • Keep employees informed, educated, trained & re-trained on health & safety to ensure safe conduct of their job.
  • Encourage Employee to participate in safety activities by participating and giving suggestions every month, thus ensuring safe work culture and safe environment. Ensure that all employees & contract workers are aware about work permit systems and are trained.
  • Ensure Material safety Data sheet for all chemicals available in the plant and train all employees on MSDS.
  • Identify the hazard & risk for fire within the plant & control them with appropriate measures.
  • Ensure that documented procedures & effective systems are in place for safe evacuation of people in the event of fire.
