Job summary

Mentorinfocomm in Chennai seeks a technically strong Pre-Sales Engineer to support business development. You will meet clients, understand requirements, and recommend suitable IT infrastructure or audiovisual solutions based on budgets.

This role requires solid fundamentals in either IT infrastructure or audiovisual integration, plus good Tamil and English communication. Hindi is a plus; travel within Chennai and nearby areas may be needed.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Engineering, CS, IT, or Electronics.
• Strong fundamentals in IT infrastructure or audiovisual integration.
• Tamil and English communication; Hindi a plus.
• Must have two-wheeler and valid driving license; Chennai resident preferred.

Responsibilities

• Visit clients, understand their technical and business requirements, and conduct site surveys where required.
• Recommend suitable products, configurations, and integrated solutions based on customer needs and budgets.
• Prepare technical proposals, bills of materials, product comparisons, and inputs for quotations.
• Coordinate with brands, distributors, and internal teams for product selection, pricing, demonstrations, and technical clarifications.
• Support the sales team with presentations, solution explanations, and follow-ups to help convert enquiries into business.
• Document customer requirements accurately and coordinate with the implementation team for a smooth project handover.
• Keep up to date with relevant products, technologies, and subscription offerings.

Candidates should have a strong foundation in either IT infrastructure or audiovisual system integration. Knowledge of both areas is an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Visit clients, understand their technical and business requirements, and conduct site surveys where required.
• Recommend suitable products, configurations, and integrated solutions based on customer needs and budgets.
• Prepare technical proposals, bills of materials, product comparisons, and inputs for quotations.

Required Skills :

• Diploma or degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or a related discipline.
• Strong technical fundamentals in either:
• IT infrastructure: Computers, laptops, workstations, servers, networking, switches, firewalls, scanners, and related equipment.
• Audiovisual integration: Active LED video walls, professional displays, conferencing cameras, microphones, speakers, HDMI splitters, AV switches, and control systems.
• Basic understanding of collaboration platforms and subscription licensing, including Zoom, Cisco Webex, and Microsoft Teams, is an advantage.
• Ability to understand customer needs and explain technical solutions clearly.
• Good communication skills in Tamil and English. Hindi proficiency is an added advantage.
• Willingness to travel for client meetings within Chennai and nearby areas.
• Must have a two-wheeler and a valid driving licence.
• Candidates based in Chennai or nearby Tamil Nadu locations are preferred. Living within a convenient commuting distance of our Greams Road, Chennai office is an advantage.
• Freshers with sound technical fundamentals, an interest in customer interaction, and a willingness to learn are welcome.
