Job summary

Tata AutoComp Systems Limited seeks a skilled Exterior Design Engineer to lead the development of front/rear bumper, grille, and other body exterior components, ensuring homologation and cost targets. You will coordinate with design studios and cross-functional teams across regions to deliver on schedule.

The role requires strong UG-NX and ENOVIA/Teamcenter PLM experience, plastics tooling knowledge, and a track record in exterior plastics parts development and supplier collaboration.

• Drive product release planning for body exterior components.
• Conduct technical reviews with suppliers and support Design studio and vehicle integration.

Job Description:

• Lead the Body exterior component design & development activities.
• Exterior Components are Front Bumper, Rear Bumpers, Grille, Bumper mounting brackets, functional plastic such as roof rail, badges components and its homologation compliance requirements.
• Exterior components Aero components such as Wheel Flare, Wheel Liner, Claddings, belly pan, FEM and Spoiler and its homologation compliance requirements.
• Ensure Body exterior components being consistent with quality, performance, time, and costs objectives and being supported by specialized areas.
• Ensure Cross functional team co-ordination on development and practices in a specific collaborative project with other regions.
• Homologation compliance for all the body exterior components
• Responsible for the Engineering, Design, Development, Timing and Product release of Body Exterior components
• Other responsibilities will include managing supplier (internal/external) development activities, weight and cost reduction opportunities, development, and validation of assigned components.

Qualifications/Skills and Experience:

• Education: B.E. / B. Tech. / M. E / M. Tech Mechanical / Automotive / Electrical engineering.
• Experience: Minimum of 6 to 8 years of relevant experience.

Essential Skills

• Strong design & development experience in Body exterior components
• Strong Experience Must in UG-NX and PLM ENOVIA. (Catia is added advantage)
• Body exterior components such all exterior plastic parts and assembly components and its homologation compliance requirements.
• Plastics processing knowledge, Tooling background is essential.
• Development experience in Exterior Painted, chromed and as molded grained parts
• Should conduct technical reviews with Body exterior supplier and sort out development related issues.
• Coordinate with Design studio, Vehicle integration to sort out milestone issues.
• Experience in UG NX in a production release environment
• Experience in Team Center / PLM
