Job summary

Mooin Automation in Maharashtra, India seeks an experienced Mechanical Design engineer for automation projects. You will design automation machines, fixtures, and conveyors, and produce detailed drawings and BOMs. Collaboration with production, electrical, and vendors ensures timely delivery and robustness of designs.

You should have 5 years of mechanical design experience, and be proficient in SolidWorks or AutoCAD, with strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automation machines, components, fixtures, and assemblies per customer requirements.
• Prepare 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD / SolidWorks / other CAD software.
• Develop concepts, layouts, and detailed mechanical designs for automation systems.
• Design and modify vibratory feeders, step feeders, conveyors, fixtures, and workstations.
• Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings with dimensions, tolerances, material specs, and BOM.
• Coordinate with production, purchase, electrical, and assembly teams for smooth machine development.
• Review designs for functionality, manufacturability, cost, and ease of assembly.
• Support machine assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and design modifications.
• Analyze design issues and implement corrective actions during trials.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Design and develop automation machines, components, fixtures, and assemblies as per customer requirements.
• Prepare 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD / SolidWorks / other CAD software.
• Develop concepts, layouts, and detailed mechanical designs for automation systems.
• Design and modify Vibratory Bowl Feeders, Step Feeders, Linear Feeders, Conveyors, fixtures, and workstations.
• Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings with dimensions, tolerances, material specifications, and BOM.
• Select suitable materials, bearings, motors, sensors, pneumatic components, and other mechanical components.
• Coordinate with production, purchase, electrical, and assembly teams for smooth machine development.
• Review designs for functionality, manufacturability, cost, and ease of assembly.
• Support machine assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and design modifications.
• Analyze design issues and implement corrective actions during machine trials.
• Coordinate with customers and vendors for technical requirements and design clarifications.
• Prepare BOM, part lists, fabrication drawings, and assembly drawings.
• Ensure designs meet customer specifications, quality requirements, and project timelines.
• Maintain design documents, revision records, and technical documentation.
• Provide technical support during installation and commissioning of automation equipment.

Preferred candidate profile

• Diploma / Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• 05 years of experience in mechanical design, automation, or machine design.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks / AutoCAD or similar 2D/3D CAD software.
• Good knowledge of machine design, mechanical components, fabrication, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience in designing automation machines, feeders, conveyors, fixtures, and special-purpose machines (SPM).
• Knowledge of BOM preparation, GD&T, tolerances, material selection, and engineering drawings.
• Ability to understand customer requirements and convert them into practical design solutions.
• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with production, assembly, purchase, electrical, and vendors.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to visit customer sites for installation, commissioning, and technical support, when required.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects within deadlines.
