Job summary

PI Industries Ltd is seeking a Utility Operator for our Udaipur/Jambusar/Panoli sites. The role requires 4+ years in chemical/pharma environments and strong HVAC/reactive utility proficiency.

You will maintain 24x7 utility operations, monitor daily checklists, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include coordinating with utility teams, carrying out preventive maintenance, and documenting ISO compliances.

Qualifications

• ITI or Diploma in relevant field.
• Minimum 4+ years of experience in chemical/pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Experience with HVAC systems and industrial utilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Central Utility/ETP team for uninterrupted utility operations.
• Execute preventive maintenance for HVAC, exhaust, pumps, and related utilities.
• Adhere to Health, Safety and Environment policies on the shop floor.
• Prepare work permits with area owner and safety team and deploy manpower.
• Maintain ISO 14001, ISO 18001, and ISO 27001 documentation.
• Coordinate with Facility Engineers to understand requirements and implement actions.
• Assist lab instrument service engineers as required.
• Ensure timely shift reporting as per the reporting matrix.

Position Title: Utility Operator

Reporting to (Title): Lead Facilities Management

Level: Officer & Associates

Position Purpose

Position Holder shall maintain all facilities and utility operation 24X7 in running condition. Monitoring & filling of Daily Checklist/ Reports. Carryout of preventive maintenance of equipment & documentation of the same as per defined schedule / SOP. Predict the abnormality and attend breakdown in timely manner. Make sure optimal utilisation of resources with PI safety norms, PPE’s compliance and inventory management through physical stock verification.

Operational Responsibilities

• Coordination with Central Utility / ETP team to ensure uninterrupted utility operations
• Timely execution of preventive maintenance schedules for all HVAC, Exhaust, drive systems, air compressors, pumps, PHEs and general utilities through effective resource allocations, spare part listing and continuous monitoring (LLF) etc.
• Strict adherence to the Health, Safety and Environment policies on shop floor
• Timely readiness of work permit by taking clearance from area owner and safety team and deployment of manpower and ensure speedy completion of task
• Maintain proper documentation of ISO14001, ISO18001, and ISO27001 or other certifications, and /or other regulatory practices
• Maintain close working relationship with the Facility Engineers to understand their requirements – list out the same, creating an action plan and its implementation
• Ensure timely execution of any other activities that may be assigned from time to time
• Execution of various in-house modification / enhancement as per plan / target assigned by facility engineer
• Coordinate / support lab instrument service engineer as and when required
• Ensure timely shift reporting as per the reporting matrix

Financial Responsibilities

• Suggest cost improvement areas through implementation of local solution for a problem

People Responsibilities

• Maintain harmonious relationship with the PMS team and the Central utility team of the site
