AVPL in Nagpur is seeking a Manager - Utility Cell Line to oversee daily operations across power, water treatment, and other utilities. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and operators, ensuring reliable performance and adherence to safety.

The role requires 5-7 years of utility systems leadership in industrial settings, a degree in mechanical/electrical/instrumentation/chemical engineering, and hands-on experience with CMMS.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and maintenance of the utility cell line (power, water treatment, compressed air, cooling, steam).

• Provide technical support; perform root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Monitor efficiency, reduce downtime and optimize utility performance.
• Ensure compliance with local, state and national regulations; enforce safety protocols.
• Manage budgets; plan resources to meet goals within budget.
• Maintain records and prepare reports for senior management.
• Lead utility-related projects; ensure on-time, within-budget delivery.

KeyResponsibilities:

• Operations Maintenance: Oversee the daily operations and maintenance activities of the utility cell line, including power generation, water treatment, compressed air systems, cooling towers, steam, and other related utilities.
• Team Management: Lead and manage a team of engineers, technicians, and operators, ensuring effective coordination and performance. Mentor and develop team members to ensure continuous improvement in both technical and operational skills.
• Troubleshooting Problem Solving: Provide technical support and guidance to resolve issues in utility systems. Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures or inefficiencies and implement corrective actions.
• Process Optimization: Continuously monitor utility systems and recommend measures to optimize efficiency, minimize downtime, and reduce operational costs. Implement best practices to improve overall system performance.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and national regulatory requirements concerning utility operations. Monitor adherence to safety protocols and take proactive steps to mitigate risks.
• Budget Resource Management: Manage operational budgets for the utility cell line. Plan, allocate, and optimize resources effectively to meet operational goals within the allocated budget.
• Documentation Reporting: Maintain accurate records of operations, maintenance, and performance metrics. Prepare regular reports for senior management detailing system performance, operational challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
• Project Management: Lead and participate in utility-related projects, such as equipment upgrades, new installations, or process improvements, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
• Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with internal stakeholders (e.g., production, engineering, and safety departments) and external vendors to ensure smooth utility operations and resolve any issues.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field. A Masters degree or relevant certifications will be an added advantage.
• Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in managing utility systems (steam, power, water treatment, compressed air, etc.) in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Experience in a leadership role within utility operations is highly preferred.
• Skills Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of utility systems, their components, and operation.
  • Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and maintaining utility equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality management.
  • Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities to address complex operational challenges.
