Job summary

Larsen & Toubro in Kolkata is seeking a detailed Process Engineer to contribute to the design and development of Fuel Gas, Fuel Oil, Steam, and water treatment systems. You will work on ZLD projects and Acid Regeneration Plants, with emphasis on equipment selection and technical specifications.

The role involves system design, DBR creation, and rigorous review of vendor drawings and calculations, supporting bid clarifications and detailed engineering of utility networks.

Qualifications

Job description

• Process engineering of Fuel Gas, Fuel Oil, Steam, Utility Gases, Water Supply & Treatment, and Wastewater Treatment Systems, including:
• Acid Regeneration Plants (ARP) for steel and non-ferrous industries
• Strong exposure to selection, design, and specification of mechanical equipment, including:
• Pumps, Heat Exchangers, Condensers

Core Technical Experience

• Process engineering of Fuel Gas, Fuel Oil, Steam, Utility Gases, Water Supply & Treatment, and Wastewater Treatment Systems, including:
• Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) systems
• Acid Regeneration Plants (ARP) for steel and non-ferrous industries
• Strong exposure to selection, design, and specification of mechanical equipment, including:
• Pumps, Heat Exchangers, Condensers

Engineering & Design Capabilities

Hands-on Experience In

• System design and development
• Preparation of Design Basis Reports (DBR) and Design Criteria
• Technical specifications for equipment and packages
• Bid evaluation and technical clarification
• Scrutiny and approval of vendor drawings & calculations
• Detailed engineering of water and utility systems.

Proficient In

• Equipment and piping layout development
• Review and coordination of 3D models for equipment and piping

Strong Knowledge In

• Development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) with proper control philosophy
• Basic unit sizing and process calculations
• Hydraulic design of piping networks
• Pump and compressor head selection
• Exposure to piping stress analysis

Software & Tools

• Experience or working knowledge of engineering software such as:
• PIPENET (Standard Module)
• CAESAR II
• EPANET

Knowledge of hydraulic and lubrication systems considered an added advantage
