Job summary

PeopleStrong is seeking a skilled Process Engineer to contribute to the design and optimization of Fuel Gas, Fuel Oil, Steam, and Water systems. The role involves hands-on system design, DBR development, and detailed equipment specifications.

The candidate should have strong experience with PFDs, P&IDs, hydraulic design, and 3D model coordination for equipment and piping, ensuring robust, compliant designs across projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in process engineering of fuel gas, fuel oil, steam, and water systems.
• Hands-on system design and development; DBR and design criteria.
• Expertise in PFDs and P&IDs with correct control philosophy.

Responsibilities

• Develop PFDs and P&IDs with proper control philosophy.
• Perform basic unit sizing and process calculations.
• Design hydraulic piping networks and select pumps/compressors heads.
• Review vendor drawings and calculations; coordinate 3D models for equipment/piping.

Job Description

Core Technical Experience

A. Process engineering of Fuel Gas, Fuel Oil, Steam, Utility Gases, Water Supply & Treatment, and Wastewater Treatment Systems, including:

• Acid Regeneration Plants (ARP) for steel and non-ferrous industries

B. Strong exposure to selection, design, and specification of mechanical equipment, including:

Engineering & Design Capabilities

Hands-on experience in:

• System design and development
• Preparation of Design Basis Reports (DBR) and Design Criteria
• Technical specifications for equipment and packages
• Bid evaluation and technical clarification
• Scrutiny and approval of vendor drawings & calculations
• Detailed engineering of water and utility systems.
• Equipment and piping layout development
• Review and coordination of 3D models for equipment and piping

Process Engineering & Analysis

Strong knowledge in:

• Development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) with proper control philosophy
• Basic unit sizing and process calculations
• Hydraulic design of piping networks
• Pump and compressor head selection
• Exposure to piping stress analysis

Software & Tools

• Experience or working knowledge of engineering software such as:

Knowledge of hydraulic and lubrication systems considered an added advantage

• Thickeners / Clarifiers
• Sludge Dewatering Systems
• Valves and specialized piping components
