Job summary

Quest Global is seeking a qualified Process Engineer in Bengaluru to develop PFDs and P&IDs, perform simulations, and prepare datasheets for equipment and instruments.

The role requires strong knowledge of piping, instrumentation, safety systems, and industry codes such as API/ASME. You will collaborate with mechanical, instrumentation, and procurement teams and contribute to HAZOP/HAZID studies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering.
• Proficient in P&ID software (AutoCAD / AVEVA).
• Experience with process simulators: Aspen HYSYS, PRO-II, UniSim.
• Strong knowledge of piping, valves, instrumentation and safety systems.
• Familiar with API, ASME, ANSI, IEC, NFPA codes and standards.
• Strong problem-solving and teamwork with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop PFDs and P&IDs compliant with industry standards.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) in compliance with industry standards.
• Perform process simulations and calculations to optimize system design.
• Conduct heat and material balance calculations and prepare process datasheets for equipment and instruments.
• Assist in the design and selection of pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, separators, and other process equipment.
• Ensure compliance with ASME, API, ISO, and other industry standards.
• Work with instrumentation, piping, and mechanical engineers to ensure design consistency.
• Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, and risk assessment studies.
• Review vendor drawings and technical documents to ensure alignment with project requirements.
• Provide technical support during procurement, fabrication, and construction phases.

Required Qualifications & Competencies

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, AVEVA Diagrams, or similar P&ID design software.
• Experience with process simulation tools (Aspen HYSYS, PRO-II, UniSim, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of piping systems, valves, instrumentation, and safety systems.
