Job summary

Flipspaces seeks a USA Accountant to manage end-to-end accounting for US operations in line with US GAAP. You will coordinate with US business teams, Corporate Finance, auditors, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate books and timely reporting.

The role covers month-end close, AP/AR, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation with strong internal controls and cross-entity collaboration.

Qualifications

  • 3–7 years of relevant US accounting experience in a US GAAP environment.
  • Experience with multi-entity or multinational operations is preferred.
  • Hands-on in month-end closure, reconciliations, financial reporting and audit support.

Responsibilities

  • Manage general ledger and end-to-end accounting for US operations.
  • Drive monthly, quarterly, and annual book closures and prepare US GAAP financial statements.
  • Oversee AP/AR, invoicing, payments, collections, and reconciliations.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flows for US entities.
  • Support statutory audits, tax filings, and compliance schedules.
  • Coordinate with Corporate Finance and US teams for budgeting and variance analysis.
  • Implement internal controls and produce MIS, dashboards, and management reports.
  • Collaborate with auditors and stakeholders to resolve queries within timelines.

Job description

The USA Accountant will be responsible for end-to-end accounting, financial reporting, and compliance for the company’s US operations. The role will ensure accurate books of accounts in accordance with US GAAP, timely reconciliations and financial closure, and effective coordination with the US business team, Corporate Finance, auditors, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the general ledger and end-to-end accounting for US operations, ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions.
  • Drive monthly, quarterly, and annual book closure and prepare financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), including invoicing, payments, collections, ageing, and reconciliations.
  • Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations and monitor cash flows for US operations.
  • Support statutory audits, tax filings, and other compliance requirements by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate with Corporate Finance and US business teams for budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and risk mitigation.
  • Prepare periodic MIS, dashboards, and management reports to provide visibility into financial performance.
  • Work closely with auditors and internal stakeholders to resolve accounting and reporting queries within defined timelines.
Qualification & Experience
  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
  • 3–7 years of relevant experience in US accounting, preferably in a US GAAP environment.
  • Strong hands‑on exposure to month‑end closure, reconciliations, financial reporting, AP/AR, and audit support.
  • Experience working with multi‑entity or multinational operations will be preferred.
  • Hands‑on experience with accounting/ERP platforms such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar systems.
Key Skills
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and accounting principles.
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, AP/AR, and month‑end closure.
  • Good analytical and problem‑solving capabilities with strong numerical orientation.
  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under tight reporting deadlines.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with US‑based teams, auditors, and Corporate Finance.
  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of end‑to‑end accounting deliverables.
  • Prior experience working with remote/global teams and US business stakeholders is preferred.
