Job summary

SS Supply Chain Solutions is seeking a Transport coordinator in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. You will manage daily vehicle call-offs, coordinate deployment, and maintain transport MIS to ensure timely vehicle movement and data accuracy.

The role requires strong MS Excel and MIS skills, sharp coordination, and experience with or willingness to work with a Transport Management System (TMS). You will track vehicle availability, ensure timely placement, and prepare MIS reports.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily vehicle call-off requirements based on operational needs.
• Coordinate with transporters, drivers and internal teams for timely vehicle placement.
• Track vehicle availability, placement, reporting and movement status.
• Monitor vehicle deployment to ensure availability per schedule.
• Maintain daily vehicle movement and transport records.
• Prepare and maintain MIS reports on daily/weekly/monthly bases.
• Track performance by vehicle and transporter.
• Identify delays and issues and escalate promptly.
• Maintain records of trips, vehicles, transporter details and movement status.
• Generate operational dashboards for management review.
• Ensure data is updated in Excel and/or TMS/ERP systems.
• Coordinate with transporters for pending information and documentation.
• Support reconciliation of vehicle/trip data with billing records.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Transport coordinator to manage daily vehicle call-offs, coordinate vehicle deployment, maintain transport-related MIS, and ensure timely availability and movement of vehicles.

The ideal candidate should have strong MS Excel and MIS skills, good coordination and follow-up abilities, and preferably prior experience with a Transport Management System (TMS).

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily vehicle call-off requirements based on operational requirements.


• Coordinate with transporters, drivers and internal teams for timely vehicle placement.


• Track vehicle availability, placement, reporting and movement status.


• Monitor vehicle deployment and ensure that required vehicles are available as per schedule.


• Maintain daily vehicle movement and transport records.


• Prepare and maintain daily, weekly and monthly MIS reports.


• Track vehicle-wise and transporter-wise performance.


• Identify delays, shortages, non-placement and other operational issues and **escalate** them promptly.


• Maintain accurate records of trips, vehicle numbers, transporter details and movement status.


• Generate operational reports and dashboards for management review.


• Ensure timely updating of data in Excel and/or the company's TMS/ERP system.


• Coordinate with transporters for pending information, trip status and documentation.


• Support reconciliation of vehicle/trip data with operational and billing records.


• Maintain proper documentation and data accuracy.
