Job summary

TVS Motor Company in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, is seeking an Attribute Engineer - CFD to lead system-level modelling and simulation for ICE, HEV and EV powertrains. You will perform calculations for sizing, energy use, and range, and develop 1D/0D models using MATLAB/Simulink, GT-Power, and AVL BOOST.

Close collaboration with multiple teams is essential. The role requires a ME/MTech in Mechanical, Automotive, or Aerospace engineering from IITs/NITs, with 2–4 years of related experience and hands-on

Qualifications

• M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical, Automotive, or aerospace engineering from IITs or NITs.
• Strong fundamentals in vehicle dynamics, thermodynamics, energy systems and powertrain engineering.
• Hands-on experience with 1D/0D simulation tools and scripting.

Responsibilities

• Perform system-level modelling and simulation for ICE, HEV and EV powertrains to evaluate vehicle and powertrain performance.
• Conduct engineering calculations for powertrain sizing, energy consumption, range, performance and operating conditions.
• Develop and execute 1D/0D simulation models using MATLAB/Simulink, GT-Power, AVL BOOST or equivalents.
• Support simulation studies for engine, motor, battery, transmission and thermal systems.
• Analyze simulation results, identify key performance drivers and provide engineering recommendations.
• Correlate simulation results with test data and improve model accuracy.
• Support benchmarking, target setting and prognosis for new ICE/HEV/EV concepts.
• Develop reusable calculation methods and Python/MATLAB automation to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with Design, Testing, Controls, Battery, Motor and Vehicle teams to deliver solutions.
• Document methodology, results and present findings to project stakeholders.

Education Qualification: M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical, Automotive, or aerospace engineering from IITs or NIT

Required Experience:

• 1. 2-4 years of experience in vehicle performance simulation, system simulation, powertrain simulation, or related engineering domains.
• 2. Experience in hand/ design calculation for various system/sub-systems in an automobile using first principles and fundamentals of mechanical/thermal/ electrical systems.
• 3. Good fundamentals in vehicle dynamics, thermodynamics, energy systems and powertrain engineering.
• 4. Hands-on experience in at least one of AMESim, MATLAB/Simulink, GT-Power or equivalent is must.
• 5. Exposure to ICE, EV or HEV powertrain simulation.
• 6. Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• 7. Basic Python/MATLAB scripting and automation capability preferred.

Role Description

• 6. Correlate simulation results with test/experimental data and support improvement of model accuracy.
• 7. Support benchmarking, target setting and prognosis studies for new ICE/HEV/EV concepts.
• 8. Develop reusable calculation methods, simulation models and Python/MATLAB-based automation to improve engineering efficiency.
• 9. Work closely with Design, Testing, Controls, Battery, Motor and Vehicle teams to understand requirements and deliver simulation-based solutions.
