1. ROLE PURPOSE
The TMO SME is accountable for the end-to-end planning, governance, and execution of vendor transitions across Global IT contracts, beginning with the AMS portfolio — overseeing knowledge transfer (KT), structured readiness testing (SRT), cutover, hypercare and adoption — ensuring transitions are delivered on time, on budget and with minimal disruption to business operations.
The role serves as the primary escalation point between business/function stakeholders and the extended TMO team, driving consistent execution of transition strategy and governance across all active waves, and ensuring a sustainable, well-governed handover into steady-state operations.
1.1 Enterprise Transition Execution
- Own end-to-end planning and execution of large-scale, multi-wave transitions across towers, vendors and geographies within the Global IT portfolio.
- Develop and oversee the Master Transition Plan, covering scope, timelines, dependencies, financials, milestones, risks, regulatory requirements and mitigation actions.
- Drive on‑time, on‑budget delivery of each transition wave while adhering to compliance, quality and audit requirements.
- Ensure consistent execution of transition strategy and methodology across the multiple waves.
1.2 Stakeholder & Governance Management
- Serve as the primary escalation point between business/function stakeholders and the extended TMP team, ensuring timely decision‑making and issue resolution.
- Drive alignment with global standards, governance frameworks and enterprise decision‑making forums (Steering Committee, Governance Council).
- Coordinate gate sign‑off approvals, ensuring gate criteria are met before wave progression.
1.3 Risk, Stabilization & Operational Readiness
- Oversee the transition risk management framework with a strong focus on compliance, business continuity, and sustainable knowledge/capability transfer to incoming vendor teams.
- Ensure operational readiness through structured readiness testing.
- Define and lead the hypercare approach — success criteria, monitoring cadence and exit conditions — following each wave's go‑live.
- Ensure smooth transition to steady‑state operations with established SLAs and performance baselines, in coordination with the VMO Governance tower.
1.4 Organisational Change & Adoption
- Lead the change management strategy for each transition wave, including stakeholder engagement, communications and adoption planning across global teams.
- Ensure effective knowledge transfer and sustained adoption of compliant processes, systems and ways of working by incoming AMS vendor teams.
2. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of progressive experience in transition management, shared services, or Global Business Services (GBS) / Global Capability Centre (GCC) environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven track record leading complex, large‑scale, multi‑wave transitions simultaneously across multiple functions/towers and geographies.
- Experience building and leading a global transition team/function
- Functional knowledge across one or more relevant domains (e.g., IT AMS, R&D, commercial, supply chain, corporate functions).
- Proven experience planning, coordinating and managing organisational change across business units, functions and markets.
- Working knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and monthly variance reporting for transition costs.
3. KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Technical Competencies
- Strong understanding of transition methodologies and global operating models.
- Demonstrated expertise in transition planning and execution — knowledge transfer (KT), structured readiness testing (SRT), cutover, hypercare and adoption.
- Functional and end‑to‑end process expertise in one or more areas.
- Experience establishing methods, frameworks and tools, including use of technology and AI.
- Solid financial and commercial acumen — able to explain assumptions, manage transition costs and drive economic value.
Behavioural Competencies
- Ability to influence cross‑functional partners and stakeholders in a highly matrixed, global organisation.
- Ability to operate effectively in complex, ambiguous environments to drive alignment and execution across diverse teams.
