Job summary

Wipro PARI seeks a senior leader to establish and run a world-class Automation Academy spanning Mechanical, Controls, Electronics, Mechatronics and Software. The role focuses on strategy, competency framework, and comprehensive training programs aligned with evolving technologies.

The incumbent will mentor a small team (2–3) and partner with Engineering, Business and HR to close skill gaps, drive certifications, and measure impact with clear learning metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Electrical/Electronics or related disciplines.
• 15+ years of experience in relevant domains.
• Internal applicants: minimum 10 years in current role (mandatory).
• Strong leadership and capability-building skills.
• Experience building Centres of Excellence (CoEs) and partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Lead and establish Automation Academy across Mechanical, Controls, Electronics, Mechatronics and Software domains.
• Define and implement the Automation Academy strategy and competency framework.
• Develop, deliver and oversee technical training, certification and leadership programs.
• Conduct training needs analysis and create learning roadmaps for engineers across multiple domains.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Business and HR to identify skill gaps and capability requirements.
• Build Centres of Excellence (CoEs) and drive innovation initiatives.
• Partner with universities, training institutes and technology providers.
• Lead knowledge management, mentoring and coaching initiatives.
• Monitor training effectiveness through competency assessments and development metrics.
• Handle and mentor a team of 2-3 members.

Job description

Role Description:

Lead and establish a world class Automation Academy focused on developing engineering talent across Mechanical, Controls, Electronics, Mechatronics and Software domains. Drive technical training, competency development, capability building, learning frameworks, certification programs and workforce readiness aligned with business needs and emerging technologies.

Define and implement the Automation Academy strategy and competency framework.

Develop, deliver and execute oversee technical training, certification and leadership development programs.

Conduct training needs analysis and create structured learning roadmaps for engineers across Mechanical, Controls, Electronics, Mechatronics and Software domains.

Collaborate with Engineering, Business and HR teams to identify skill gaps and capability requirements.

Build Centres of Excellence (CoEs) and drive innovation initiatives.

Partner with universities, training institutes and technology providers.

Lead knowledge management, mentoring, coaching and technical excellence initiatives.

Monitor training effectiveness through competency assessments, certifications and development metrics.

Handle and mentor a team of 2-3 members, ensuring effective execution of academy objectives and training programs.

Qualification:

B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics or related disciplines.

Desired Experience:

Above 15 years

Eligibility criteria for Internal applicants:

• Minimum 10 years' experience required in the current role (mandatory)
