Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Design and develop press tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and other tooling as per product and process requirements.
• Handle tool design and development activities, including feasibility, concept development, and detailing.
• Conduct tool trials and establish tool cost estimates based on design and manufacturing requirements.
• Coordinate with the tool manufacturing team for tool development, progress monitoring, and timely completion.
• Carry out tool inspection, validation, and trial activities to ensure tools meet required specifications.
• Monitor tool trial results and implement necessary modifications or improvements.
• Maintain and update tool design drawings, specifications, and validation records.
• Develop and implement solutions for tool setting time reduction and productivity improvement.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and tooling optimization while maintaining quality standards.
• Work closely with the Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Manufacturing teams for tooling-related issues and improvements.
• Ensure proper tool maintenance, validation, and repeatability to support continuous production.
• Troubleshoot tooling problems and provide effective technical solutions to improve tool performance.
• Possess strong knowledge of roll forming processes and roll/forming tool design.
• Monitor tooling performance and support continuous improvement initiatives in the tool design and manufacturing process.
