Job summary

Intelizign Lifecycle Services in Chennai seeks an experienced tooling and fixtures engineer. You will develop concept fixtures using NX/CATIA in a connected or standalone environment, leveraging AWC and Teamcenter for project workflow. Knowledge of NAAMS, GD&T, and powertrain or battery assembly processes is essential.

Responsibilities include collecting input data, creating 3D fixtures, and delivering 2D manufacturing drawings while coordinating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience with automotive tooling/fixtures development is required.
• Knowledge of GA/NAAMS standards/design for assembly is beneficial.
• Strong reading of part drawings and locator strategies.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

• Collect input data like CAD drawings, process sheets, and program assumptions.
• Develop concept fixtures per tooling/ergo standards using NX CATIA or similar tools.
• Create 3D finish tooling and 2D manufacturing drawings with GD&T.
• Raise issues in Jira/SharePoint and update program work package folders.
• Work with standards for powertrain or battery assembly processes.

Role & responsibilities

Experience: 3 to 5 Years

Relevant Experience: 3+ Years

Location: Chennai

Responsibilities:

• Collect all necessary input data such as Product CAD / Part drawings / Process flow / Process Sheet / Surrogate tooling CAD, Ergo Standards and Program Assumptions
• Develop Concept Fixtures for given assumptions (New & Modified Tools) as per Tooling & Ergo standards using NX CAD Software in Standalone or Connected VET environment & upload in Manufacturing Folder / Program Work package / Program SharePoint,
• Other related software to Develop Concept Fixture AWC- Active work space, CATIA, Vismockup.
• Perform Kinematics study if required.
• Tooling & Fixtures includes Pallets, Lift Assists / aids, Dunnage, Racks, Hand tools, Kit box, Press tool, Test fixture & any special purpose tools based on Process requirements.
• Ability to develop from Surrogate program tooling and reduce complexity wherever possible.
• Creating 3D finish tooling and final Manufacturing 2D with GD&T.
• Raise issues in Jira / Program SharePoint.
• The person must be skilled in NX CAD, AWC, Team center software.
• Must have an Automotive manufacturing process exposure in Powertrain [Engine / Transmission / Axle] or Battery Assembly Process.
• Very good understanding of Locator strategy and reading Part drawings.
• Should have good exposure on NAAMS standard / Design for X / Design for Assembly.
• Should have good exposure on pneumatic / servo systems, latest innovation in the clamps, standard part library
• Other additional software knowledge (CATIA or any *3D modelling software & Vismockup, *Process Simulate, *Camtasia,) and with good communication skill. (* Good to Have Skills)
