Job summary

Intelizign Lifecycle Services in Bengaluru seeks a Tool Design Engineer with 7+ years' experience in BIW fixture design, welding, and jigs using CATIA. You will develop and modify production equipment designs, create engineering drawings and BOMs, and coordinate with manufacturing, quality and ergonomics teams for tool development.

Hands-on with digital tools (CATIA/3DX/Process Simulate) and PLM software (Windchill preferred) is required to support virtual tooling standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma with Tool Design or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7+ years of tool design experience in manufacturing, BIW preferred.
• Strong CATIA knowledge and familiarity with PLM tools.

Responsibilities

• Investigate production equipment solutions and modify existing designs.
• Create and maintain drawings, BOMs, and design documentation.
• Design and implement mechanical tools, layouts, and simulation models.
• Develop and maintain virtual area standards.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, production, quality and ergonomics teams for tool development.
• Interact with suppliers on digital model issues and manufacturability.
• Ensure familiarity with machining, sheet metal, welding, drilling and lean principles.
• Apply CATIA/3DX/Process Simulate for virtual tooling; Windchill PLM exposure preferred.

Education: Education and experience Diploma with Tool Design / B.Tech in Mechanical Engg.

Work Experience: 7+ Years

Work Location: Bengaluru

Primary Responsibilities

• Investigate production equipment solutions and develop new or modify existing equipment designs.
• Create and maintain engineering drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and design documentation
• Design, develop and implement mechanical equipment and tools, layouts and simulation models
• Develop and maintain standards within the virtual area
• Coordinate with manufacturing, production, quality and ergonomics team for tool development activities and input collection.
• Contact with suppliers on digital model issues, manufacturability of tools and other requirements collection and align with the same
• 8+ years of Tool design experience from the manufacturing industry. Work exposure in BIW is an advantage,
• Good knowledge and In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal, welding, Drilling & Lean Manufacturing Principles.
• Good knowledge of Manufacturing and Assembly Process.
• Good understanding of Engineering Drawing reading, Drawing and detailing standards.
• Good knowledge and skills in digital tools (CATIA/3DX/Process Simulate) in the Virtual area.
• Hands-on experience in at least one PLM software (Windchill Preferred)
