Job summary

Ascendum Solutions India invites an experienced Tool Design Engineer to lead projects in Bengaluru. The role requires deep knowledge of tooling design, GD&T, and DFM, with hands-on CATIA/3DX expertise and PLM familiarity.

You will collaborate with manufacturing teams, estimate tooling tasks, and ensure quality from concept to detail drawings. 8+ years in tool design in automotive or related industries is preferred; BIW exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Tool Design or B.Tech in Mechanical Engg.
• 8+ years of tool design experience in manufacturing.
• BIW exposure is advantageous.
• Solid knowledge of machining, sheet metal, welding, drilling and lean manufacturing.
• Good reader of engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience with CATIA/3DX/Process Simulate in virtual area.
• Hands-on experience with PLM software Windchill preferred.

Education and experience

• Diploma with Tool Design / B.Tech in Mechanical Engg.
• 8+ years of Tool design experience from the manufacturing industry.
• Work exposure in BIW is an advantage.
• Good knowledge and In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal, welding, Drilling & Lean Manufacturing Principles.
• Good knowledge of Manufacturing and Assembly Process.
• Good understanding of Engineering Drawing reading, Drawing and detailing standards.
• Good knowledge and skills in digital tools (CATIA/3DX/Process Simulate) in the Virtual area.
• Hands-on experience in at least one PLM software (Windchill Preferred)
