Job summary

Marketnode, a digital market infrastructure provider, is seeking a Test Engineer – Automation to ensure quality, reliability, and scalability of our platform and data services. The role focuses on designing and executing automated tests, API testing, and validating blockchain workflows.

You will build automation frameworks in TypeScript, collaborate with developers and QA colleagues, and contribute to CI processes. Based in Bangalore, this position reports to the Lead QA Engineer.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance.
• At least 2+ years of experience in test automation using TypeScript.
• Experience testing web applications, REST APIs, and distributed systems.
• Experience working on Blockchain, Web3, Digital Assets, Cryptocurrency, or Financial Market Infrastructure products is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user stories, functional requirements, and technical designs to create comprehensive test scenarios.
• Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases for functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Build and maintain automation frameworks using TypeScript with Playwright (preferred) or similar modern automation tools.
• Perform API and integration testing using tools such as Postman, Playwright API, or similar.
• Validate blockchain and Web3 workflows, including digital asset transactions, smart contract interactions, and API integrations where applicable.

Marketnode is a digital market infrastructure (DMI) operator backed by Euroclear, HSBC, SGX Group and Temasek. We believe in the power of programmable assets and that traditional financial instruments will be originated, transacted and served better leveraging emerging technologies such as blockchain. Our approach to building market infrastructure is one of partnership with the industry and in 2024 have successfully launched our first market-wide platform for funds, with credit and structured products to follow 2025 onwards.

At Marketnode, our DMI suite covers the following:

• Data services: AI powered structured data and extraction tools
• Funds & transaction management: operating Fundnode, a funds transaction management and settlement platform
• Digital Assets: multi-asset tokenization, record keeping and asset servicing

Having recently closed our Series A investment with major financial institutions such as HSBC, Marketnode is now well positioned for it’s next growth phase and is looking for a Test Engineer leading overall delivery efforts for our platform and data services offerings.

The role is responsible for planning, designing, executing, and maintaining test activities to ensure product quality across functional and integrated systems. This role involves collaborating closely with developers, business analysts, and other QA team members to identify issues early, improve test coverage, and contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and automation practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze user stories, functional requirements, and technical designs to create comprehensive test scenarios.
• Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases for functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Build and maintain automation frameworks using TypeScript with Playwright (preferred) or similar modern automation tools.
• Perform API and integration testing using tools such as Postman, Playwright API, or similar.
• Validate blockchain and Web3 workflows, including digital asset transactions, smart contract interactions, and API integrations where applicable.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects using tools such as JIRA or Github.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and QA engineers to ensure timely resolution of issues.
• Support non-functional testing, including performance, security, and usability testing where required.
• Contribute to QA best practices, test strategies, automation improvements, and continuous integration processes.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools such as ChatGPT, Claude or similar to improve QA productivity.

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance.
• At least 2+ years of experience in test automation using TypeScript.
• Experience testing web applications, REST APIs, and distributed systems.
• Experience working on Blockchain, Web3, Digital Assets, Cryptocurrency, or Financial Market Infrastructure products is highly preferred.
• Experience working in Banking, FinTech, or other regulated financial environments is an advantage.
