Job summary

Smartstream in Mumbai is looking for an experienced Testing Automation Engineer to join the Testing CoE and deliver automated tests for global financial institutions. Commitment to quality and attention to detail are essential.

You will work with QA leads to estimate automation efforts, execute on test plans, review artifacts, and integrate regression automation in an Agile environment. Strong scripting, API testing, and knowledge of SQL/Unix are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in automation testing.
• Experience developing test frameworks with frontend automation tools (Selenium/UFT).
• Hands-on expertise in various automation frameworks (BDD, data driven, keyword, hybrid).
• Strong programming/scripting skills (Java/Python/JavaScript).
• Experience in services/API testing and automation (JMeter/other).
• SQL and Unix knowledge.
• Proven experience in Agile environments.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with test management and version control (Jira/Git/Bitbucket).

Responsibilities

• Work with QA Team Lead to understand product requirements and provide automation testing estimates.

• Collaborate with development in an agile delivery to capture defects early via regression automation.

Job description

This is a role in the Testing CoE of a product company where you will have an opportunity to work in a cross-cultural team to deliver fully functional and performant software for global financial institutions.

Job Responsibilities:

• Work with QA Team Lead to understand the product requirements and be able to provide automation testing estimates.
• Utilize experience (technical and functional) to execute on automation test plans (scenarios/cases/bug triage) to allow for in-sprint automation.
• Review automation test artifacts created by team members.
• Work with development in an agile delivery methodology to capture defects early in the lifecycle by regular execution of regression automation suit.
• Work with automation engineers to get best ROI by identifying automation candidates.

Key Skills:

• 3+ years of experience in automation testing
• Must have 3+ years of experience with development of test framework with any frontend automation tool. (Selenium/UFT/Any other)
• Hands on expertise in various automation framework (bdd, data driven, keyword, hybrid).
• Must be capable of understanding test requirements, planning and creating test suites.
• Strong hold on any one programming/scripting language (Java/Python/JavaScript/Any other)
• Experience in services/API testing and automation (Jmeter/Any tool)
• Good exposure to SQL and Unix
• Proven experience working within an Agile framework
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Solid experience on Test management and Version control softwares (Jira/Git/Bitbucket/Any other)
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills.

Desirable Skills:

• Knowledge of Capital markets, Investment Banking domain
• Knowledge of Appservers, MQs or similar products
• Exposure to Continuous Integration & Continuous Deployment.
• Exposure in Performance and Security testing.

Experience:

Have a minimum of 3+ experience in various QA roles.

• Proven track record performing team lead responsibilities - mentoring and guiding team members.
• Have strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC and bug life cycle.
• Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work in fast paced environment, keep pace with technical innovation.
• Experience in handling multiple projects with changing priorities and meeting concurrent deadlines.
• Open minded, able to share information, transfer knowledge and expertise to team members.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors or higher degree in computer science, or MCA or equivalent in computers, or Bachelors or higher degree in other with good experience in computers.
