Job summary

Profound Human Resource Development Advisors in Kolkata seeks an experienced Tendering professional for a Manager/Senior Manager Tendering role in Power Transmission EPC projects. You will manage the entire tendering process from identifying opportunities to final techno-commercial bid submissions.

8–15 years of experience in Transmission Lines, Substations and Power Cable EPCs is required, with BE/B.Tech in Electrical Engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Tendering professional with strong exposure to Transmission Lines, Substations and Power Cable EPC projects. The incumbent will be responsible for managing the complete tendering process, from identifying opportunities and studying tender documents to preparing techno-commercial bids, cost estimation, negotiations and final submission.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate tender opportunities related to Transmission Lines, Substations, HT/EHV Power Cables and Power T&D projects.
• Study and analyse NITs, RFQs, tender documents, technical specifications, BOQs, SLDs, drawings and contractual conditions.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Projects, Finance and Commercial teams for preparation of techno-commercial bids.
• Prepare BOQ-based cost estimates, rate analysis, material/labour/equipment costing and project cost sheets.
• Prepare competitive technical and commercial proposals in line with tender requirements.
• Develop and review BOM/BOQ, scope of work, exclusions, assumptions and deviations.
• Coordinate with vendors/subcontractors for obtaining budgetary and firm quotations for cables, conductors, transformers, switchgear, towers, insulators, accessories and other electrical equipment.
• Analyse EHV/HT cable requirements, including cable supply, laying, jointing, termination, testing and commissioning.
• Prepare estimates for substation works, including electrical equipment, civil works, erection, testing and commissioning wherever applicable.
• Analyse transmission-line requirements covering tower supply/erection, stringing, conductor, OPGW, earthing and associated works.
• Ensure compliance with technical specifications, client requirements, eligibility criteria and tender submission conditions.
• Prepare tender queries, pre-bid clarifications and deviation statements and coordinate responses with the client/consultant.
• Conduct competitor, market and pricing analysis to support bidding strategy.
• Prepare detailed commercial bid summaries, price schedules, cash-flow requirements, payment terms, LD clauses, BG requirements and contractual risks.
• Coordinate with senior management for bid strategy, pricing approval and commercial negotiations.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, negotiations, techno-commercial discussions and post-bid clarifications.
• Maintain a database of tenders, submitted bids, competitors, vendors, rates and historical project costs.
• Ensure timely submission of tenders and maintain complete documentation and tender records.
• Support the Business Development team in pipeline development and opportunity assessment.
• Review awarded tenders and facilitate a smooth handover from Tendering to Project/Execution team.

Key Technical Exposure

Candidates should preferably have experience in one or more of the following:

• 132/220/400 kV Transmission Lines
• AIS/GIS Substations
• EHV/HT Power Cables
• Underground cable systems and cable laying
• Cable jointing & termination
• Transformers, switchgear and protection systems
• Conductors, OPGW, insulators and transmission towers
• Earthing and lightning protection systems
• Testing & commissioning
• EPC / Turnkey Power Transmission projects
• Utility/PSU tenders and private-sector EPC tenders

Desired Skills

Preferred Industry Background

Candidates from Power EPC, Transmission & Distribution, Electrical Infrastructure, Substation EPC, EHV Cable, Utility or Infrastructure companies will be preferred.
