Job summary

Ashoka Buildcon is seeking a qualified professional in Mumbai to handle rate analysis, material costing and tender preparation for EPC projects. The role involves coordinating with procurement, architects, and vendors to ensure accurate BOQs and comprehensive bids.

You will conduct site visits, assess risks, prepare technical and commercial bids, and negotiate offers. Experience with E Tendering and contract terms is desirable.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in EPC contracts and tendering processes.
• Ability to prepare rate analyses and cost estimations with rational risk factors.
• Strong coordination with vendors, suppliers, architects and procurement teams.
• Experience reviewing tender documents and BOQs for accuracy and completeness.
• Familiarity with E Tendering and contract terms including taxes and duties.

Responsibilities

• Prepare rate analyses and collect basic rates of key construction materials.
• Send inquiries to specialized vendors and coordinate with procurement.
• Coordinate with architects to obtain Bills of Quantities and ensure accuracy.
• Conduct detailed quantity surveying and tender preparation activities.
• Review tender scope, risk, and financial criteria for bid approvals.
• Perform site visits, plan logistics, and liaise with clients on clarifications.
• Issue inquiries, analyze offers, negotiate prices and update costing.
• Understand contract terms, payment terms, LDs, and guarantees.
• Identify risks and opportunities in tender pricing to mitigate risk.
• Coordinate with internal teams for construction plans, staffing and equipment.
• Prepare tender review information ensuring pricing and margins are adhered to.
• Prepare technical and commercial bids per tender requirements.
• Develop rate analysis with logical risk-adjusted pricing.
• Liaise with government departments for new projects and prequalification.
• Work with E Tendering platforms as required.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

1. 1. Preparing rate analysis for all the items, collection of basic rates of key construction material, preparing and sending the inquiries for specialized vendors, co-ordination with centralized purchase/ procurement team.
2. 2. Should have hands on experience of working on EPC contracts, close co-ordination with consulting Architects for getting Bill of Quantities and checking the correctness/ completeness of Bill of Quantity and item of works as per DBR and other relevant documents.
3. 3. Should have experience in detailed Quantity Surveying works.
4. 4. Having good interaction with vendors, suppliers, sub -contractors and associates.
5. 5. Reviewing tender documents, scope of works, checking the feasibility for qualification, financial criteria, preparing presentations, risk matrix, information to top management to get approval for bidding.
6. 6. Site visits, Site investigation, preparing logistics plan, Bulk materials source nearby and attending pre-bid meetings & seeking clarifications from clients.
7. 7. Floating an enquiry and collection of offers with vendor negotiation, Analysis & Price comparison, updating costing works.
8. 8. Getting through the contract terms and conditions, liquidity damages, performance guarantee, milestone, bank guarantee requirements, payment terms and special conditions, taxes, and duties.
9. 9. To identify risk and opportunity in the proposal pricing to mitigate inherent risk at tender submission stage.
10. 10. Coordinating with internal departments for Preparation of project construction plans & Schedules, staffs, Manpower & Equipment deployments, Organization charts and method statements and infrastructure requirements.
11. 11. To prepare tender review information to ensure methodology, pricing and margin contingency are adequately adhered to.
12. 12. Preparing of technical & commercial bids as per the tender requirements.
13. 13. Preparing Rate Analysis with logical risk factor pricing.
14. 14. Routinely liaison with government departments for new and upcoming projects and for addition or deletion of prequalification criteria
15. 15. Should have Experience in working with E Tendering.
