Job Summary

Virat Scrappers is looking for an experienced MSTC / GeM Auction Specialist to manage the complete auction procurement process for End-of-Life Vehicles (ELVs), condemned vehicles, scrap vehicles and other auctioned assets offered by Government Departments, PSUs and Government agencies.

The candidate will be responsible for identifying suitable auctions, evaluating lots, conducting commercial analysis, participating in MSTC e-Auctions, completing post-auction formalities and coordinating vehicle lifting and transportation to the RVSF.

This is a hands‑on auction role. Candidates must have practical experience with MSTC e‑Auctions.

Key Responsibilities
MSTC / Government Auction Management
  • Regularly search and identify relevant opportunities on the MSTC e-Auction Portal.
  • Identify vehicle, ELV, condemned vehicle and scrap auction lots suitable for the company.
  • Review auction notices, lot details, reserve prices, eligibility criteria, terms and conditions.
  • Identify auction opportunities from Government Departments, PSUs and other Government agencies.
  • Track upcoming and ongoing auctions and maintain an auction opportunity database.
Vehicle Inspection & Evaluation
  • Coordinate physical inspection of auction vehicles wherever required.
  • Evaluate vehicle condition, quantity, location and potential recovery value.
  • Estimate scrap value and recoverable components/parts.
  • Assess transportation, operational, documentation and other risks.
  • Prepare commercial evaluation before bidding.
Bidding & Commercial Analysis
  • Calculate the maximum profitable bidding price for each auction.
  • Consider purchase price, taxes, auction charges, transportation, loading/unloading, processing and dismantling costs.
  • Participate in MSTC e-Auctions within approved bidding limits.
  • Manage EMD submission, bid participation and auction documentation.
  • Maintain records of bids, auction results, purchase costs and profitability.
  • Ensure all bidding decisions are commercially viable.
Post‑Auction & Vehicle Lifting

Manage the complete process:

Payment Sale Confirmation Release Order Documentation Vehicle Lifting Transportation RVSF Delivery

  • Coordinate post-auction payments and documentation.
  • Follow up for sale confirmation and release orders.
  • Coordinate with auctioning authorities for vehicle release.
  • Arrange vehicle lifting, loading and transportation.
  • Track dispatch, transit and delivery of purchased vehicles.
  • Ensure timely delivery of vehicles to the RVSF.
  • Resolve documentation, release and vehicle‑lifting issues.
Government & Stakeholder Coordination
  • Coordinate with Government Departments, PSUs, Government agencies and auction authorities.
  • Coordinate with MSTC representatives and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Follow up on inspections, payments, documentation, release orders and lifting permissions.
  • Maintain professional relationships with Government and institutional stakeholders.
MIS & Reporting
  • Maintain records of auction opportunities, EMDs, bids and successful purchases.
  • Track auction-wise purchase costs and related expenses.
  • Maintain profitability and auction outcome reports.
  • Provide regular auction updates and reports to management.
  • Maintain a database of Government Departments, PSUs, auction sources and relevant contacts.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should:

  • Have 2–5 years of practical MSTC auction experience.
  • Preferably have experience in vehicle, ELV, condemned vehicle or scrap auctions.
  • Have strong working knowledge of the MSTC e-Auction Portal.
  • Have working knowledge of GeM.
  • Understand the complete auction-to-vehicle-lifting process.
  • Be capable of independently evaluating auction opportunities and bidding commercially.
  • Understand scrap value, recovery value and profitability calculations.
  • Have experience dealing with Government Departments, PSUs or auction authorities.
  • Be comfortable conducting field visits for vehicle inspection.
  • Have strong communication, coordination, negotiation and follow-up skills.
  • Be comfortable working independently and taking commercially sound decisions.
Mandatory Requirement

Practical MSTC e‑Auction experience is mandatory.

Candidates with only theoretical knowledge of MSTC or experience limited to basic portal usage will not be preferred.

Preference will be given to candidates who have personally handled:

Qualification

Graduate in any discipline preferred.

Candidates with relevant experience in Procurement, Auction Management, Scrap Trading, Automobile, ELV Recycling, Government/PSU Procurement or Commercial Operations may be considered.
