Job summary

Vinfast in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu is seeking an EV Scooter Technician to join our Production team. You will perform assembly, installation and testing of EV scooters, following SOPs and EOL procedures.

You should have ITI or diploma in related field, and experience in EV or two-wheeler manufacturing; strong electrical/mechanical skills, ability to read wiring diagrams, and commitment to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• ITI/ Diploma in automobile, mechanical, electrical, electronics or related discipline.
• EV experience preferred: EV scooter / two-wheeler manufacturing.
• Experience with battery pack, motor, controller, wiring harness, brakes, suspension, wheels.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test and troubleshoot EV scooters per SOP.
• Inspect major EV components (battery pack, motor, controller, wiring harness, brakes, suspension, wheels).
• Diagnose electrical, electronic and mechanical issues.
• Perform vehicle functional testing and End-of-Line (EOL) testing.
• Check wiring connections, torque, and component fitment.
• Identify defects and coordinate corrective actions.
• Use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment and measuring instruments.
• Read work instructions, wiring diagrams and SOPs.
• Support root-cause analysis for recurring issues.
• Maintain quality standards and First-Time-Right (FTR).
• Follow safety procedures, PPE, 5S and shop-floor standards.
• Document inspection, testing and issues.

EV Scooter Technician

Department: Production / Manufacturing

Location: Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu

Experience: 38 Years

Qualification

• ITI / Diploma in Automobile, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or related discipline.
• Candidates with relevant experience in EV, automobile or two-wheeler manufacturing will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform assembly, installation, testing and troubleshooting of EV scooters as per standard operating procedures.
• Carry out fitment and inspection of major EV components including battery pack, motor, controller, wiring harness, brakes, suspension, wheels and other vehicle systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, electronic and mechanical issues in EV scooters.
• Perform vehicle functional testing and End-of-Line (EOL) testing.
• Check and verify wiring connections, connectors, cable routing, torque tightening and component fitment.
• Identify defects and abnormalities during assembly/testing and coordinate with the concerned teams for corrective action.
• Use appropriate hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment and measuring instruments.
• Read and understand work instructions, technical drawings, wiring diagrams and standard operating procedures.
• Support root-cause identification and corrective actions for recurring vehicle issues.
• Maintain quality standards and ensure First-Time-Right (FTR) during assembly and testing.
• Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, 5S and shop-floor standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, productivity, safety and process efficiency.
• Maintain proper documentation of inspection, testing and identified issues.
