Job summary

Hire Hubb in Coimbatore is seeking an experienced EV maintenance engineer to inspect, diagnose, and repair electric vehicles, batteries, and charging units. The role covers routine maintenance, troubleshooting of EV components, and performance testing, with emphasis on safety and compliance.

Candidates should hold a Diploma/Degree in Electrical or Automobile engineering and demonstrate strong knowledge of CAN bus, EV software, and high-voltage safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience with EV maintenance and automotive electrical systems.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools, CAN bus, and EV software.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Vehicle maintenance and repair of EVs, incl. inspections and preventive tasks.
• Diagnose and fix electrical systems, batteries, charging units; replace faulty parts.
• Troubleshoot motors, inverters, controllers and wiring harnesses.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify faults and run performance tests.
• Assist installation/commissioning of EV charging stations and related infra.
• Maintain service records and ensure safety and 5S practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
  




• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on EVs.


• Diagnose and repair electrical systems, battery modules, and charging units.


• Troubleshoot issues related to motors, inverters, converters, and wiring harnesses.


• Replace faulty components and ensure compliance with safety standards.




• Diagnostics & Testing
  




• Use diagnostic tools/software to identify faults in EV systems.


• Conduct performance tests on batteries, motors, and controllers.


• Maintain accurate service records and reports.




• Installation & Commissioning
  




• Support installation of EV charging stations and related infrastructure.


• Assist in commissioning new EVs and ensuring readiness for operation.




• Safety & Compliance
  




• Adhere to high-voltage safety protocols and PPE requirements.


• Ensure compliance with industry standards and environmental regulations.


• Promote workplace safety and 5S practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Electrical/Automobile Engineering or related field.


• 24 years of experience in EV maintenance or automotive electrical systems.


• Strong knowledge of EV components: batteries, motors, controllers, charging systems.


• Familiarity with diagnostic tools, CAN bus systems, and EV software.


• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical manuals.


• Understanding of high-voltage safety procedures.
