Job summary

Zeno in Bengaluru is seeking a skilled Battery Technician to join our EV operations team. You will inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain electric two-wheeler battery packs and related electrical systems, ensuring high reliability and safety.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with EV batteries, lithium-ion packs, BMS, wiring and diagnostic tools, and can perform tests, health checks and installations with attention to detail. This role offers growth in a fast-growing EV company.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years hands-on experience in EVs or automotive electrical systems.
• Experience with lithium‑ion battery packs preferred.
• Basic understanding of Battery Management Systems (BMS).
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and use a multimeter.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot EV battery issues.

Job description

Zeno is looking for a skilled and hands-on Battery Technician to join our EV operations team in Bengaluru. The technician will be responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, maintenance, testing and servicing of electric two-wheeler battery packs and related electrical systems.

The ideal candidate should have practical experience working with EV batteries, lithium-ion battery packs, BMS, wiring, connectors and electrical troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot EV battery-related issues.
• Inspect battery packs, cells, BMS, connectors, wiring and terminals.
• Perform battery testing, health checks and basic electrical diagnostics.
• Identify issues related to voltage, current, charging, discharge and battery performance.
• Diagnose and resolve BMS-related faults.
• Carry out battery pack repair, replacement and maintenance as per defined procedures.
• Perform battery installation and removal from electric two-wheelers.
• Conduct pre- and post-repair testing to ensure battery functionality.
• Use multimeters, diagnostic equipment and other electrical testing tools.
• Maintain proper records of battery inspections, repairs, failures and replacements.
• Follow SOPs for battery handling, storage, charging and transportation.
• Ensure compliance with workplace and battery safety procedures.
• Coordinate with service, engineering and operations teams for recurring technical issues.
• Escalate complex battery/electrical failures to the concerned technical team.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized work area.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to battery reliability and serviceability.

Candidate Requirements

• ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Automobile or a related technical discipline preferred.
• 1–3 years of hands-on experience in EVs, automotive electrical systems, battery servicing or related technical work.
• Experience working with Lithium-ion battery packs will be preferred.
• Basic understanding of Battery Management Systems (BMS).
• Knowledge of DC electrical systems, wiring, connectors, fuses and relays.
• Ability to use a multimeter and basic electrical diagnostic tools.
• Experience in troubleshooting electrical and battery-related faults.
• Basic knowledge of electric two-wheelers is an advantage.
• Ability to read basic wiring diagrams/electrical schematics.
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to work in a hands‑on workshop/operations environment.
• Ability to work independently as well as with a technical team.
