Job summary

Dassault Systèmes in Bangalore (BIOVIA) seeks a junior-level Technical Writer to support the User Assistance Development team. You will own product documentation, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and end-user focus, while collaborating with developers, QA, PMs, and support teams across Europe, North America, and India.

You will document online help, installation guides, system requirements, and release notes, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement in usability and product documentation.

Qualifications

• BE, BA in English, Technical Communication, BSc in Computer Science, or a related discipline, a Technical Writing certificate, or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years of experience producing technical documentation and online help in a software development environment.
• Excellent global English communication skills.
• Technical writing and content development for online and PDF output.
• Knowledge of MadCap Flare, RoboHelp, HTML, DITA XML, CHM, CSS, PDF and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional and globally distributed teams across multiple time zones to document scientific software.
• Actively participate in all aspects of documentation development from project planning to product rollout.
• Contribute to online help, administration guides, system requirements, installation guides, UI labels and release notes.
• Serve as an advocate for end-users and support a culture of continuous improvement in usability and documentation.
• Improve depth and quality of documentation based on feedback from internal and external customers.
• Meet deadlines and produce high quality, comprehensive, understandable documentation and online help that adheres to corporate standards.

BIOVIA is looking for a junior-level Technical Writer to support our User Assistance Development team, an international team of talented writers who work collaboratively with developers, quality assurance engineers, product managers, other user assistance developers, and customer support personnel to make our products easier to use.

What will your role be?

You will own the overall product documentation for your subject areas and ensure that the quality, technical accuracy, and customer focus are maintained in your deliverables. You will work in a fast-paced environment alongside software developers, Quality Assurance engineers, user interaction designers, product managers, support engineers, and other User Assistance developers located across offices in Europe, North America, and India.

Role Description & Responsibilities

• Contribute to online help, administration guides, system requirements, installation guides (server/client and web-based), UI labels and messaging, and release notes
• Serve as an advocate for our end-users in supporting a culture of continuous improvement in product usability and documentation.
• Improve the depth and quality of documentation based on feedback from internal and external customers.
• Meet deadlines and produce high quality, comprehensive, understandable documentation and online help that adheres to corporate standards.

Mandate Skill

• BE, BA in English, Technical Communication, BSc in Computer Science, or a related discipline, a Technical Writing certificate, or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years of experience producing technical documentation and online help in a software development environment.
• Excellent global English communication skills.
• Technical writing and content development skills for both online and PDF output.
• Knowledge of current industry standards and tools such as single sourcing, MadCap Flare, Robohelp, Adobe Acrobat, DITA XML, HTML, CHM, CSS, PDF, image editing software.
• Familiarity of Agile software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
• Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight project deadlines.
• Eager to learn new business concepts and build product expertise.
• Possesses initiative and persistence.

Good to have (Not mandate)

• Scientific knowledge or interest in the life sciences.
• Bachelor (BSc) or Masters (MSc) in science.
• MadCap Flare user with experience in building and distributing Flare output, HTML experience, CSS template management or development knowledge.
• Willingness to ask questions, participate in collaborative meetings, and follow a standard style guide for all user assistance deliverables.
• Self-starter that enjoys spending time learning new technology.
• Knowledgeable about documentation processes and tools.
• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively with globally distributed teams.
