Job summary

Cyient is seeking a technical writer with 4–10 years of experience to develop service, maintenance and repair documentation for medical equipment. You will coordinate with engineering, quality and procurement to ensure accurate, up-to-date materials and manage design-change updates.

The role requires lab verification of documents, tracking progress, and escalation of risks to support timely decisions. Strong editing and documentation tooling skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 4–10 years as a technical writer in medical devices or similar safety-critical field.
• Proven experience creating service, maintenance and repair documentation.
• Ability to coordinate with Supplier Engineering, R&D, Quality, Procurement and others to update docs.
• Experience verifying documents in a lab and updating affected service materials.
• Provide visibility on progress, risks and dependencies for timely decisions.

Job description

• 4-10 years of experience as a technical writer, preferably in medical devices or similar industry
• Experience creating service, maintenance, and repair documentation for medical equipment or similar safety critical products
• Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders (Supplier Engineering, R&D, Quality, Procurement & Others as required) to create and/or update documentation.
• Carry out document verification in the lab and correct / update the impacted service documents
• Provide ongoing visibility on progress, risks, and dependencies as planned.
• Highlight / escape risks, delays, lab/system unavailability or other roadblocks for timely decision-making and support

Skills:

• Knowledge of field‑service workflows, corrective/preventive maintenance methodologies, and device diagnostics
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, device interfaces, and SOPs
• Work with service engineers, field technicians, and customer‑service teams to address documentation gaps and integrate real‑world feedback
• Update service documentation as design changes occur, ensuring accuracy for all released device versions
• Knowledge of tools like SCHEMA ST4, Paligo, Adobe
