Job summary

Gurucul, a cybersecurity analytics company, is looking for an experienced Technical Writer with 4–6 years in cybersecurity to create, manage, and maintain high-quality documentation. Responsibilities

• Develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation across guides, API docs, release notes, and knowledge base.
• Create modular, structured docs using DITA XML standards.
• Publish and maintain docs on Document360 and other platforms.
• Develop REST API docs using OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Produce developer docs, integration guides, and code samples.
• Work in a Docs-as-Code environment with Git version control.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, QA, DevOps, Support, and Cybersecurity SMEs.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools to improve content while ensuring accuracy.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer with 4 to 6 years of experience in the cybersecurity domain to create, maintain, and manage high-quality technical and developer documentation. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with DITA XML, Document360, API documentation, Docs-as-Code practices, Git workflows, and AI-assisted documentation tools. The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-centric documentation.

The role involves developing, editing, and maintaining technical documentation, including user guides, installation guides, administrator guides, API documentation, developer documentation, release notes, knowledge base articles, and online help content.

Responsibilities

• Develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation.
• Create structured, modular, and reusable documentation using DITA XML standards.
• Manage, publish, and maintain documentation using Document360 and other documentation platforms.
• Develop and maintain REST API documentation using OpenAPI/Swagger specifications and related tools.
• Create comprehensive developer documentation, integration guides, configuration documentation, and code samples.
• Work in a Docs-as-Code environment using Git-based version control and documentation workflows.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, QA, DevOps, Support, and Cybersecurity SMEs to gather technical information and produce high-quality documentation.
• Leverage AI-assisted documentation tools (AI writing assistants) to improve documentation productivity while ensuring technical accuracy and consistency.
• Ensure documentation aligns with product releases, security updates, and engineering best practices.
• Review, update, and improve existing documentation for accuracy, usability, and consistency.
• Maintain documentation standards, style guides, templates, and information architecture.
• Support localization, content reuse, and documentation automation initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Technical Communication, or a related field.
• 4–6+ years of professional experience as a Technical Writer.
• Proven experience in the Cybersecurity domain (Endpoint Security, IAM, SIEM, Cloud Security, Network Security, Vulnerability Management, Threat Detection, Zero Trust, etc.).

Required Skills

• Strong expertise in DITA XML and structured authoring.
• Hands-on experience with Document360 or similar knowledge management/documentation platforms.
• Experience creating API documentation using OpenAPI/Swagger or similar specifications.
• Experience writing developer-focused documentation, including integration guides, SDK documentation, and technical reference material.
• Practical experience with Docs-as-Code methodologies and documentation versioning.
• Proficiency with Git workflows and repositories (GitHub, GitLab).
• Familiarity with Markdown, HTML, XML, JSON, YAML, and REST APIs.
• Experience using AI-assisted documentation tools to improve content creation and maintenance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong understanding of documentation lifecycle, information architecture, and content management.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in creating user-centric documentation.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
