Job summary

Powercon Ventures India is seeking a Solar Technical Trainer to deliver comprehensive training on solar PV systems for engineers, technicians and field teams in Pune. You will conduct classroom, practical, workshop and on-site sessions, covering PV modules, configuration, inverters, SCADA, safety, installations and O&M.

The role requires 3–8 years of experience in solar training or related fields, with strong documentation, mentoring and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics or Renewable Energy required.
• 3–8 years of relevant experience in solar training or field operations.
• Experience delivering classroom, practical, workshop and on-site training.

Responsibilities

• Deliver technical training on Solar PV systems and power plants for engineers, technicians, freshers and field teams.
• Conduct classroom, practical, workshop and on-site training sessions.
• Explain Solar PV systems including modules, configuration, inverters, transformers, SCADA and safety.
• Provide training on installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance.
• Train candidates on fault finding, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
• Explain electrical drawings, wiring diagrams and equipment specs.
• Conduct practical demonstrations on testing, measurements and electrical safety.
• Train teams on plant safety, PPE, LOTO and emergency procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver technical training on Solar PV systems and power plants for engineers, technicians, freshers, and field teams.
• Conduct classroom, practical, workshop, and on-site training.
• Explain the complete Solar PV system including:
• Solar PV Modules
• String & Array Configuration
• Distribution Boxes / AC And DC
• Inverters
• Transformers
• HT/LT Panels
• SCADA & Monitoring Systems
• Earthing & Lightning Protection
• Cables & Connectors
• Battery / Energy Storage Systems – basic understanding
• Provide training on Solar PV installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance (O&M).
• Train candidates on fault finding, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of solar systems.
• Explain electrical drawings, SLDs, wiring diagrams and equipment specifications.
• Conduct practical demonstrations related to testing, measurements and electrical safety.
• Train teams on Solar Plant Safety, PPE, LOTO, electrical hazards, working at height and emergency procedures.
• Develop training modules, presentations, practical exercises, assessments, quizzes and technical manuals.
• Conduct technical assessments and evaluate trainee performance.
• Identify knowledge gaps and provide corrective technical training.
• Maintain training records, attendance, assessment results and feedback reports.
• Coordinate with Project, Engineering, O&M and HSE teams to understand actual field-level training requirements.
• Keep training content updated with new solar technologies, equipment and industry practices.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of Solar PV technology and Solar Power Plant architecture.
• Hands-on experience in Solar EPC / Installation / Commissioning / O&M.
• Knowledge of Grid-connected, Rooftop and Utility-scale Solar PV systems.
• Understanding of DC & AC electrical systems.
• Knowledge of Inverter, SCADA, String Monitoring and Solar Plant Monitoring.
• Ability to read and explain SLD, electrical drawings and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of testing & commissioning procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of electrical safety and solar project HSE practices.
• Good presentation, communication and mentoring skills.
