Qualifications

• Experience in R&D design, architectural/decorative segment preferred.
• Strong lab-to-field technical capabilities and client-facing skills.
• Knowledge of raw materials used in architectural paints, industrial coatings, and epoxy systems.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate competitor and new products via lab testing and benchmarking.
• Develop and optimize coatings and printing ink formulations at bench scale.
• Provide technical service by briefing customers and troubleshooting issues.
• Support customers during trials, development, and performance evaluation.
• Identify and source new raw materials and principals for business collaborations.
• Prepare technical reports and formulation records.
• Collaborate with Sales to promote products and provide technical support during visits.
• Conduct regular field visits for customer interactions and product demonstrations.
• Contribute to new business by identifying market needs and suitable chemical solutions.
• Coordinate lab and field activities to ensure customer satisfaction.

Job description

Profile Overview

We are looking for a Technical Officer / Executive Lab & Product Promotion with 3-5 years of experience in the Paints, Coatings, Printing Inks, or Speciality Additives industry. The role combines laboratory formulation expertise, technical customer support, product promotion, new raw material evaluation, and business development activities. The ideal candidate should possess a strong techno-commercial mindset and be comfortable handling both laboratory and field assignments.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• 1. Evaluate competitor products and new products through laboratory testing, benchmarking, and technical analysis.
• 2. Develop and optimize coatings and printing ink formulations at bench scale, including formulation re-engineering and product improvement.
• 3. Provide technical service to customers by conducting product briefings, troubleshooting application-related issues, and recommending suitable technical solutions for specific projects.
• 4. Support customers during product trials, application development, and performance evaluation.
• 5. Identify, evaluate, and source new raw materials and principals for potential business collaborations and product portfolio expansion.
• 6. Prepare technical evaluation reports, product documentation, and formulation records.
• 7. Work closely with the Sales and Business Development team to promote products and provide technical support during customer visits.
• 8. Undertake regular field visits for customer interactions, technical demonstrations, product promotions, and new business development activities.
• 9. Contribute to new business opportunities by identifying market requirements and recommending suitable speciality chemical solutions.
• 10. Co-ordinate laboratory and field activities to ensure effective technical support and customer satisfaction.

Educational Background to have:

B.Sc. Tech / B.Tech / M. Tech in Paint Technology, M.Sc Chemistry, Diploma in Paint & Coatings Technology and experience in Paint Industry - R&D in designing, in Architectural / Decorative segment preferred.

Required Skills:

• Strong knowledge of developing coatings and printing ink formulations at bench scale.
• Expertise in formulation development and formulation re-engineering.
• Good understanding of raw materials used in Architectural Paints, Industrial Coatings, Printing Inks, Powder Coatings, Resins, Epoxy Systems, and speciality additives.
• Hands-on experience in technical troubleshooting and application support.
• Ability to evaluate competitor products and recommend technical improvements.
• Exposure to industrial coatings, epoxy systems, additives, or R&D in paint companies is preferred.
• Strong communication, presentation, and customer engagement skills.
