Job summary

Electrosteel Castings (ECL) in India seeks a research and development specialist for industrial and protective paints. You will drive formulation, testing, and commercialization of high-performance coating systems that meet customer needs, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate & select raw materials such as resin, pigment filler etc.
• Conduct formulation studies to achieve properties like corrosion resistance and chemical resistance.
• Analyse test data & prepare technical reports with recommendations.
• Support pilot scale production and manufacturing scale-up; ensure smooth transfer to production.
• Audit processes to ensure production aligns with formulation recommendations as a cross-functional activity.
• Collaborate with production team to improve process efficiency and product consistency.
• Investigate coating failure and recommend corrective actions.
• Evaluate new raw materials & suppliers.

Role Purpose :

Responsible for research, formulation, development, testing & commercialization of industrial & protective paints. The role focuses on developing high performance coating systems that meet customer requirement, industry standards, regulatory requirement, & business objectives while supporting continuous product improvement & innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate & select raw materials such as resin, pigment filler etc.
• Conduct formulation studies to achieve targeted properties such as corrosion resistance, chemical resistance etc.
• Analyse test data & prepare technical reports with recommendation.
• Support pilot scale production & manufacturing scale-up activities.Ensure smooth transfer of laboratory formulation to production.
• Audit of process to ensure production process as per formulation recommendation, as a cross functional activity with production team.
• Collaborate with production team to improve process efficiency & product consistency.
• Investigate coating failure & recommend corrective actions.
• Evaluate new raw materials & suppliers.
