Job summary

Quest Global in Bengaluru seeks a Technical Manager - Instrumentation with 20+ years of Instrumentation & Control experience in Oil & Gas. You will lead the instrumentation team, review inputs per project requirements, and ensure designs comply with CSA, API, ANSI and ISA standards.

You will manage deliverables such as datasheets, I/O lists, MTOs, loop diagrams, cable schedules, location plans and PLC/DCS connections; collaborate with other disciplines; drive safety culture; oversee effort

Qualifications

• 20+ years of instrumentation & control exp in Oil & Gas with knowledge of related instruments and systems.
• Experience leading instrumentation teams and reviewing inputs per project requirements.
• Familiar with CSA, API, ANSI and ISA codes & standards.
• Design review experience for datasheets, I/O lists, MTOs, loop diagrams and PLC/DCS connections.

Responsibilities

• Lead the instrumentation team and ensure timely, quality project deliverables.
• Coordinate across disciplines to ensure integrated, conflicts-free designs.
• Drive safety culture and compliance with EH&S and quality standards.
• Oversee effort estimation, clarifications, and input coordination for availability.
• Monitor KPIs, allocate resources, and report on team and project status.
• Support competency development and training for the instrumentation group.

Job Description: Technical Manager - Instrumentation

• Engineering experience in Instrumentation and Control systems for more than 20 years in Oil and Gas Industry with excellent knowledge in all Oil and Gas related instruments and Control Systems and associated equipment/design.
• Heading Instrumentation team along with review and verification of inputs as per the project requirement.
• Knowledge and experience of applying codes and standards such as CSA, API, ANSI and ISA.
• Doing Technical review for the deliverables like Instrument datasheets, Instrument Index and Instrument I/O list, MTO's, Loop diagram, Cable Schedule, Instrument location plan, Hook up drawings, Cable Tray Layout, JB Wiring drawing and other PLC / DCS connections etc.,
• Interface with the other engineering disciplines to ensure a coordinated design and that project engineering deliverables are completed.
• Provide and demonstrate leadership in accordance with Environment Health and Safety program to establishing a strong safety culture within the organization and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards.
• Responsible for effort estimation towards win-win methodology
• Preparation of clarifications / input list & coordination for availability at right time
• Drive for KPI's (Quality & On time delivery)
• Responsible for resource allocation to meet project requirements
• Monitoring & engagement of resources towards better utilization
• Report preparation as applicable (Team, projects, program)
• Competency update of team (Training & Development)
