Job summary

Kornferry is seeking an experienced Technical Manager Refinish with 8–12 years of experience in the Automotive Refinish Paints/Coatings industry to lead technical service, product application support, customer training, and process excellence initiatives across the South region.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in spray painting, color matching, tinting, paint booth operations, and automotive refinish paint systems.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor degree in Automotive, Chemical, or Mechanical Eng.
• Strong knowledge of automotive refinish paint systems and color tools.
• Experience with spectrophotometers and waterborne/low-VOC tech.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the region.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting at body shops, OEM workshops, and distributor locations.
• Conduct product demonstrations, field trials, audits, and validation activities.
• Deliver training programs for painters and distributor teams and develop SOPs and application guidelines.
• Support sales teams with customer conversions, product launches, and technical presentations.
• Collaborate with R&D and global teams on product testing, VOC compliance, and market feedback initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for paint defects, color matching, application issues, and process improvements at body shops, OEM workshops, and distributor locations.
• Conduct product demonstrations, field trials, technical audits, and validation activities.
• Deliver technical training programs for painters, technicians, and distributor teams while developing SOPs and application guidelines.
• Support sales teams with customer conversions, product launches, and technical presentations.
• Collaborate with R&D and global technical teams on product testing, VOC compliance, and market feedback initiatives.

Requirements: Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Automotive, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering with strong knowledge of automotive refinish paint systems, color tools, spectrophotometers, and waterborne/low-VOC technologies. Willingness to travel extensively across the region is essential.
