Weekday in Bengaluru is seeking an experienced Technical Leader to guide engineering initiatives, set technical direction, and build scalable, reliable solutions across cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices.

The role combines hands-on technical leadership with people management, owning architecture, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and deployment strategies while collaborating with product, QA, and operations to ensure timely, quality delivery.

Qualifications

• Engineering Manager with strong people and technical leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, DevOps engineers, and technical professionals, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Take ownership of the technical direction, architecture, development, deployment, and maintenance of critical applications and platforms.
• Act as a hands-on Technical Lead, providing guidance on system design, coding standards, architecture, scalability, performance, and security.
• Manage engineering projects from planning and design through development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Define and implement effective DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, monitoring, logging, release management, and deployment strategies.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, Operations, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, prioritize initiatives, and deliver solutions aligned with business objectives.
• Drive engineering best practices around code reviews, automated testing, version control, documentation, observability, and incident management.
• Identify technical risks, performance bottlenecks, and scalability challenges and proactively develop solutions.
• Support hiring, onboarding, mentoring, performance management, and career development of engineering team members.
• Establish engineering standards and processes that improve productivity, reliability, quality, and delivery velocity.
• Evaluate new technologies and tools and recommend solutions that can improve system architecture, development workflows, and operational efficiency.
• Participate in production troubleshooting and lead root-cause analysis for critical technical issues.

We are looking for an experienced and technically strong Technical Leader to lead engineering initiatives, drive technical excellence, and build scalable, reliable technology solutions. The ideal candidate will combine strong hands-on technical expertise with engineering leadership, team management, and a deep understanding of DevOps, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, automation, and software engineering best practices.
