Job summary

Gamesa Technology Corporation seeks a technical writer to develop accurate, user-centric SCADA system documentation for wind turbine operations. You will translate complex engineering content for engineers, technicians, and operators, ensuring consistency with industry standards and company style.

You will collaborate with SCADA engineers, software developers, OT/IT teams, and vendors to produce manuals, diagrams, and configuration guides, while maintaining updated documentation across upgrades

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in technical communication, engineering, or related field with 3–6 years of experience.
• Experience as a technical writer in energy, automation, or SCADA domains.
• Solid understanding of SCADA systems, industrial networking, and data acquisition principles.
• Familiarity with wind turbine operations, control systems, and remote monitoring tools.
• Strong grasp of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, IP routing).
• Proficiency in creating structured technical documents using MS Office, Excel, Visio, XMetal, LaTeX, Markdown, or Sphinx.
• Experience in Agile engineering environments and interpreting technical drawings/schematics using NX SEE Electrical.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for SCADA software and network infrastructure.
• Develop system architecture and topology diagrams.
• Prepare network configuration guides (switches, routers, firewalls).
• Document communication protocols (IEC 60870-5-104, Modbus, OPC).

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather source content.
