Job summary

Nutrabay in Gurugram, Haryana seeks a Team Lead - Full Stack Engineering with 5–7 years of hands-on experience to lead a fast-growing team. You will drive end-to-end delivery across frontend (React/React Native) and backend (Django/FastAPI), mentor engineers, and own architecture and roadmap for scalable services.

You will collaborate with product, design, and DevOps to ensure performance, reliability, and business impact, while maintaining high-quality code and delivery velocity in a startup

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job Role: Team Lead - Full Stack Engineering

You should apply if you have:

• 5-7 years of hands-on software engineering experience across frontend and backend, with a track record of leading small teams
• Strong production experience in React/React Native on the frontend and Python (Django/FastAPI) on the backend
• Experience building and scaling consumer-facing e-commerce or D2C products
• Strong people-leadership instincts - mentoring engineers, running code reviews, and driving delivery without micromanaging
• A product mindset with attention to performance, reliability, and business impact
• Comfort owning features end-to-end, from UI to API to database
• Ownership-driven attitude - able to take initiatives from concept to production

• Prefer purely individual-contributor work with no interest in mentoring or leading a team
• Are only comfortable in one layer of the stack and unwilling to work across frontend and backend
• Are uncomfortable owning delivery timelines, quality, and team outcomes

• Are uncomfortable working with data and metrics to guide decisions

Skills Required:

Technical Skills (Full Stack)

• Strong backend expertise: Python (Django, FastAPI), REST API design, and scalable service architecture
• Proficiency with Node.js and Express.js for BFF/API layers and SSR where applicable
• Solid database skills: MySQL (schema design, query optimization) and ElasticSearch
• Working knowledge of AWS (EC2, Kubernetes, RDS) and CI/CD pipelines
• Exposure to Redis and Airflow (good to have)
• Comfort with monitoring tools (Kibana, Grafana, New Relic) to track application health
• Understanding of frontend performance (Core Web Vitals) and backend performance (caching, query tuning, load handling)

Leadership & Business Skills

• Ability to lead, mentor, and grow a team of 5-8 engineers
• Sprint planning, estimation, and delivery ownership
• Translating product and business requirements into technical execution
• Balancing speed, scalability, and code quality in a fast-paced startup
• Strong communication and cross-functional coordination

What will you do?

Lead and Grow the Engineering Team

• Manage, mentor, and coach a team of 5-8 full-stack engineers
• Own hiring, onboarding, and performance conversations for the team
• Run code reviews and enforce engineering best practices across the stack
• Foster a culture of ownership, quality, and continuous learning
• Own the architecture and roadmap across frontend (React/React Native) and backend (Django/FastAPI)
• Ensure scalable, maintainable services and reusable component systems
• Lead technical decisions on APIs, data models, state management, and tooling
• Break down product requirements into sprints and executable tasks
• Estimate effort, set timelines, and ensure on-time, high-quality releases
• Coordinate closely with product and design on scope and UX
• Unblock the team and remove delivery bottlenecks

Ensure Performance, Scalability, and Reliability

• Optimize both frontend (page speed, Core Web Vitals) and backend (query performance, caching, throughput)
• Ensure the system scales with growing traffic (a million+ monthly visits)
• Plan for peak-load events (sales, campaigns) and high availability
• Monitor application health and errors using Kibana, Grafana, and New Relic

Improve Engineering Standards and Velocity

• Establish testing, monitoring, and release standards across the stack
• Drive data-informed decisions using metrics and A/B testing
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve engineering velocity and system health
• Reduce technical debt and improve developer experience
