Job summary

Role & responsibilities

The Shift Engineer Diamond Wire Bay & Line Operations owns the safe and reliable running of diamond wire electroplating bays (payoff, plating, takeup) across 2-3 lines in shift.

The role is accountable for takt adherence, OEE, bay yield and firsttimeright quality, while ensuring strict compliance to HSEF and process control standards. The engineer acts as the first line of technical decisionmaking on the shop floor, coordinating with Quality, Chemistry/PSM, Maintenance and Logistics to deliver the daily production plan for both silicon and DPClinked products.

Safety

• Ensure threading and changeover times meet design standards; drive SMED and losstime reduction initiatives.
• Execute the shift production plan, coordinate with Day Superintendent and PPC for priorities, and escape bottlenecks early.
• Maintain accurate downtime and loss coding in MES; ensure data integrity for all bay events.

Quality & Process Control

• Run bays strictly as per approved recipes and control plans; monitor current, voltage, speed, tension and temperature within specified windows.
• Respond to alarms as per SOP, perform firstlevel troubleshooting and escalat[e] to Process Engineering / CTS where needed.
• Ensure sampling, inprocess checks and handshakes with QA/Inline inspection are completed; support containment when defects are detected.
• Maintain SPC charts for key bay parameters and participate in MSA / GR&R and controllimit reviews.

Cost, Consumption & Reporting

• Track and confirm Ni, diamond, consumables and energy consumption at bay level; reconcile with plan and highlight variances.
• Ensure correct manual entries in MES / LIMS where required (rework, scrap, nonroutine events).
• Provide shift reports on yield, downtime, near misses and abnormal events; own closure of shortterm actions.

People & Continuous Improvement

• Lead and coach K/L executives and contract manpower in the bay; conduct toolbox talks and onthejob training.
• Drive 5S, visual management and standard work in the area; sustain improvements through audits.
• Participate in kaizens, problemsolving workshops and project trials (new products, DPC variants, new wires).
