Job summary

Skillventory in India seeks an experienced professional to oversee the health and stability of diamond wire plating baths and related PSM operations. You will monitor bath chemistry, plan make-up and dosing, operate filtration and carbon treatment, and coordinate with lab teams for sampling and corrections.

The role requires 3–6 years in chemical operations or electroplating, with strong mass-balance and data-analytics skills, and working knowledge of LIMS and SCADA systems.

Qualifications

  • B.Tech / B.E. in Chemical or Electrochemical Engineering preferred; allied disciplines may be considered.
  • 3-6 years of experience in chemical operations, electroplating baths, PSM/WWT, or chemical plants with continuous make-up and dosing systems.
  • Experience in chemical preparation, filtration, carbon treatment, and dosing skids, preferably in electroplating or metal finishing.
  • Exposure to bath analysis, titration methods, lab coordination, and mass-balance calculations.
  • Strong understanding of electrochemistry, solution chemistry, stoichiometry, and safe chemical handling.
  • Experience in Ni, Cu, Sn, or Zn electroplating / metal finishing lines will be preferred.
  • Working knowledge of LIMS, P&IDs, interlocks, and SCADA/PLC systems for chemical dosing and transfer operations.
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs and understand pump, valve, and filtration systems.
  • Basic understanding of PLC/SCADA indications and process monitoring.
  • Strong documentation, data analysis, mass-balance, and compliance skills.
  • Good communication and coordination skills to work with Operations, QA, NR, WWT, and HSEF teams.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure health and stability of diamond wire plating baths and associated PSM operations during the shift.
  • Monitor bath parameters such as Ni, additives, pH, temperature, and conductivity within defined control limits.
  • Plan and execute chemical make-up, additions, transfers, and media rotations as per operating procedures.
  • Operate filtration and carbon treatment skids and ensure timely filter changes and press cycles.
  • Coordinate with Lab teams for bath sampling, analysis, and implementation of approved corrections.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of bath corrections and chemical usage in LIMS.
  • Maintain Ni and additive mass balance across plating, PSM, and NR operations and identify unexplained losses.
  • Track consumption of Ni, chemicals, and media against plan and support cost and consumption optimization.
  • Coordinate with Bay Operations, QA, NR, and WWT/ETP teams for smooth and safe operations.
  • Ensure proper segregation and treatment of effluents in coordination with WWT/ETP teams.
  • Enforce safe work practices, PPE, ventilation, chemical handling SOPs, and PTW/LOTO requirements.
  • Maintain proper chemical storage, labelling, and segregation as per safety and statutory requirements.
  • Support investigations related to quality or yield issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support trials for new chemistries, additives, and operating windows in coordination with relevant teams.
  • Coach team members and contractor staff on safe chemical handling, sampling, and checklist discipline.
