Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, monitor, and supervise civil construction activities for T&D and Metro projects.
• Supervise civil works: substations, control buildings, foundations, trenches, RCC structures, boundary walls.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and site teams for timely project completion.
• Prepare progress reports and track milestones; manage resources and sequencing.

Job description

To plan, execute, monitor, and supervise civil construction activities associated with Transmission & Distribution (T&D) and Metro infrastructure projects, ensuring timely completion, quality compliance, safety standards, and cost optimization.

Key Responsibilities

Project Execution

• Supervise and monitor civil works related to:
  • Substations
  • Control buildings
  • Equipment foundations
  • Cable trenches
  • RCC structures
  • Boundary walls and associated infrastructure
• Ensure work execution as per approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and site teams for smooth project execution.

Planning & Monitoring

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
• Track project milestones and identify execution risks.
• Assist in project planning, resource allocation, and work sequencing.

Quality Assurance

• Ensure compliance with approved quality standards and project specifications.
• Conduct material inspections and field quality checks.
• Coordinate testing activities for concrete, steel, soil, and other construction materials.
• Maintain quality records and inspection documentation.

Safety Compliance

• Adhere to HSE policies and statutory safety requirements.
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety awareness activities.
• Ensure safe work practices at site and report unsafe conditions immediately.
• Verify contractor measurements and certify executed quantities.
• Support preparation of RA bills and BOQ reconciliation.
• Monitor material consumption and reduce wastage.

Coordination & Stakeholder Management

• Coordinate with electrical, commissioning, and planning teams.
• Liaise with local authorities and clients for site-related approvals.
• Participate in project review meetings and provide progress updates.

Documentation

• Maintain site records, DPRs, inspection reports, and as-built drawings.
• Ensure timely submission of project documentation and compliance records.

Educational Qualification

• B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
• M.Tech in Structural Engineering will be an added advantage.

Experience

• 3 to 8 years of experience in civil construction of:
  • Power Transmission & Distribution Projects,
  • Substations,
  • Metro Rail Projects,
  • Infrastructure Projects.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of RCC and structural works.
• Understanding of IS Codes and construction practices.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with Primavera/MS Project is desirable.
• Knowledge of quantity estimation and BOQ management.
• Understanding of quality and safety management systems.
